Color Blocking and Computers!

Oh sure...right when I say I'm going to get my blog going and I'm anxious to get started again, my computer decides it wants to give up on me!  AGH!  It is toast for sure, but luckily I have my handy laptop back-up plan.  I had to install some software on it so that I could get some photos with my camera on here!
Computers....it's a love/hate relationship with me on that! LOL
My laptop screen is a bit smaller...so I'll have to see what's best for photos...hopefully it still works out!
I guess I need to computer shop soon...but I really don't want to!

Anyhow, I saw yesterday an interesting challenge on Splitcoast Stampers (SCS) and thought I'd give it a try. It's a fun technique that I found to be simple enough for me to start with right now....
This technique is called Magical Masking Tape and of course if you click on the name, it will take you to a wonderfully put together tutorial from Beate!  I love the colors and the "watercolor" effect it gave to the background.  I'm surprised that I don't have very many silhouette stamps, but I thought this worked out great for it!   These are the new Stampin' Up! In-Colors:  Pistachio Pudding, Crisp Cantaloupe & Baked Brown Sugar...even the names sound delicious here! LOL!  The floral image is from a Stampin' Up! sympathy set called Love & Sympathy and the greeting is from a Stampin' Up! set called Loving Thoughts.
Tip for you:  You really need to use glossy card stock for this technique to work and I found painter's tape to be a bit better to work with as it doesn't stick as much as the masking tape does.

And with the Thursdays SCS "Way to Use It" challenge (WT433) which was coloring blocking...I thought that this would work out nicely with that.  So I went for it!   I'm going to look around at a few other challenges that I have loved to play with before and see if a few of them don't fit in with this one...

Alphabet Challenge - "J" is for Jiffy (CAS)
Simon Says - anything goes
Crafty Catz - Say it with Flowers
Stampin' for the Weekend - anything goes

I'll have to look around for others as I build my Feedly reader back up with all of the FUN challenges and inspirational peeps that I've had on there before...I'm a bit slower in my older age, but I'll get there! LOL!

I also had a hankerin' for something sweet last night after supper, but I didn't want to heat up the house with the oven because it's been so hot lately and all...so I made these "No Bake Cookies"...
These were SO VERY easy to make and took all of about 20 minutes to get everything out, ready and plop down on the wax paper to cool.  It has cocoa powder, sugar, butter, oats, coconut and milk...that's about it!  I actually found the recipe on a recipe app from my phone...thought I would try it out!  YUM!
I'm eating one for breakfast now with my coffee too!

Well, until I can get back into the swing of things and figure out my computer issues...I will be in the background here hopefully having some fun stamping and baking....now it's back to laundry and doing the dishes time!  Hope you will stop by and join me for some more fun soon!!  :0)

BTW, love the look of your new blog.
Sorry about your computer. I really do not see any difference in your photo, which is beautiful - crisp and clear, using your laptop. Enjoy the weekend!
