Every Little Thing...

Hello friends and a happy Friday!
So I was inspired to play along with a challenge, but I wanted some specific images because I thought they would be perfect to use and of course I wanted them anyway and knew that I would use them over and over, so I was fine with that!  Here's my card and I'll explain about it:
I have used several different stamp sets from the same company The Alley Way Stamps, which I'll have listed below, but I was totally inspired by the photo for their "BE Inspired" challenge.  (There is also a photo of this below.)  Speaking of TAWS...they have just started their September sneak peeks of the newly released stamps that are coming out this month!  So be sure to check it out and leave a comment for your chance to win each day until the release!  CLICK HERE

The little waves I cut free-hand and were left overs from the background I created from the video that I haven't posted yet!  LOL!  Promise it should be coming soon!  I covered the top layer of waves with my Wink of Stella pen and it has a nice shimmer to mimic the reflective water.

The pattern on the sails are from a different set from the boat and the evergreens you see along the sides are from another set and of course the greeting is from another as well.  I used my distress inks to create the nice soft foggy sky you see which I think looks similar to the photo from the challenge.  I really like how this turned out.  Hope you like it too!  Thanks for dropping in today and enjoy your weekend!

Challenges I'm linking this for:

Simon Says Stamp - anything goes
Cute Card Thursday - anything goes

A Great Story Bookmark

Hello friends and welcome to the middle of the week!
Hope you've been enjoying your Summer!  Are you ready for kids to go back to school yet?!  When my kids were younger, I always enjoyed taking them school shopping for all of those items they would need.  There's nothing like getting geared up to learn! :)

Well just because my kids are older doesn't mean I don't get to enjoy that fun feeling of "back to school" time!  I love to read and thought with the new September 2014 Simon Says card kit, I would be able to create a really fun bookmark with a Vintage style feel to it!  Here's what I did:
OK...so I've had this package of those manila style tags and thought this would be a great idea to make a book mark with the new "Storybook" card kit that came out from Simon Says Stamp this month! :)

I believe that I have pretty much used at least one of every item from the kit too!  That fun stack of books with the sentiment just cracks me up!  I loved all of the fun papers and the wooden dots that were included with this kit!  Besides the tag, the colors of ink and seam binding ribbon were the only extras here.
Just wanted to play around and have some fun with the new kit!  Hope you like! :)

(Red ink I used no longer available from SU!)

Here are a few challenges I'd like to enter this for:
Simon Says Stamp Wednesday - Back to school
CCEE Stampers (CCEE1434) - Back to School
Cute Card Thursday - Back to School

Thanks for stopping by today!  (Sorry I'm still working out technical stuff with video...hope to get things worked out with it all soon!)  I'll be back another time with a fun creation to share with ya!  Have a wonderful day today my friends!

Anything Goes for a Design Team Throwdown!

Hello friends!  So I have some fun news to share with you!
I have been asked to join up with the

Tuesday Throwdown Challenge Design Team! :)

I have happily accepted of course and really enjoy the fun people there.  You may have seen where I've been on their design team before, so sure it's great to be with old friends once again along with meeting some new ones too!  Hope you will come join in the fun with us!

(I am on Team A and will be posting creations every other week, but their challenges run every single Tuesday...so be sure to check them out every week for a new challenge to try!)

So...for this week's new challenge, it's an easy peasy ANYTHING GOES!!
Here's what I've come up with for it:
I really had so much fun using these darling wooden accents and enamel dots!  I think they just really add to the overall design of the card, don't you?!  The "I Miss You" sentiment was stamped with VersaMark and embossed with white embossing powder.
Our sponsor for this week at Tuesday Throwdown is Freckled Fawn and the wooden accents that I've used on my card are from this manufacturer!!  So be sure to play along with us this week for your chance to win! :)

Everything except for the ink pads, glue, embossing powder and glossy accents came from the April 2014 Simon Says Stamp Card Kit.  (I see it's no longer available)  You can still purchase the items shown on my card though! (Be sure to check out the Freckled Fawn store for fun items I used too!)

This card has already been shipped off somewhere special & I'd like to link it to:
Splitcoast Stampers Cards for a Cause - Aug 2014 mission "From the Heart"
The Pink Elephant  (TPE265)- anything goes

and I hope to see you play along with us at Tuesday Throwdown!  Please be sure to check out the rest of the design teams creations! :)

Life is SWEET!

Hello friends!  Hope that you are enjoying your weekend so far!
I have been enjoying playing out in the pool with hubby since it's been much warmer like Summer is supposed to be over my way.  It won't be long before we'll have to cover it up...so I want to enjoy it! :)

So...I saw this fun blog hop out in blogland and I thought it would be fun to participate in!
Check this out...
I don't believe that I have ever given my die cut machine OR my glossy accents that much of work out before! LOL!  This seems like such a simple design, but here's what I did:
I layered some strips of colored card stock down and ran my word die cut over that and then ran my same die cut several times through to make a thick layer that resembles chipboard thickness.  I then covered it with my Wink of Stella pen and then covered that with some glossy accents.  SO FUN!
I've also used about 4 different oval shaped dies to get the oval frame around it.  I covered the outer layer oval die with more glossy accents.  Of course I had to add some enamel dots to match!

(some of the colors I've used are no longer available)

So here is what I'm linking this card to:
It ends tomorrow! :)
