No Tricks...Just Treats!!

Hello my friends and Happy Halloween or just happy Friday to ya!! :)

I have made one more final Halloween card for the year.
I have some fun news to share with you as well!  So here's my card...
LOL!  I think this guy is just too much fun!  I don't make very many Halloween cards, but I do enjoy the fun images and spooky fun you can have making them!

I took this TA-DA stamp set from The Alley Way Stamps and colored in this "magician" guy and then cut him out to put on the corner bottom of my card.  I cut part of him off to make it look like he's just stepping in to wave his wand to say "Happy Halloween"!! LOL!!
I stamped the moon from the Now You See Me stamp set also from TAWS with VersaMark ink and embossed it with clear glitter EP.  I also embossed the swirls from his wand with silver EP.  I stamped the stars and then rubbed some white ink over them and then took my Wink of Stella to brush over the solid stars.  I also used my Black Wink of Stella on the wand.  The tiny stars are just dots I made with my white gel pen.

Here's a close-up look at the magician dude colored in:

And here's something else for a treat that I'd like to tell you about!
The Alley Way Stamps (TAWS) is having a blog hop right now!  They are giving away their new release to a lucky winner!  So be sure to go check it out!

Spooky Skyline...

Hello friends!
I wanted to make a fun spooky skyline card...
I have been seeing so many of these really fun spooky looking night skies this year, so I thought it would be fun to try one out for myself!

I embossed the tree border stamp with black detail embossing powder and then masked off above the tree line area to sponge the grass in.  I then sponged a punched circle and then embossed over it with clear embossing powder to create the moon.  Then I masked the grass portion of the card and finished sponging the colors for the sky.  Since I embossed the moon, I was able to go right over top of it because the embossed area resists inks.  I just added a few stars with my white signo gel pen.

I die cut some letters and sponged those with some green inks and then went over the letters with glitter and glossy accents.  I punched a couple of circles from black card stock to make eyes for the "o"s in the "boo!" and then attached some gold star sequins to the sky as well.  I covered the trees and top parts of the grass with glitter as if the moon was making them sparkle!

I hope this looks spooky enough for a Halloween night!!
Thanks so much for stopping in today!

Birthday Blog Candy Winners...and Playing with My New Christmas Kit!

Hello friends!!  It's the middle of the week and it's also time for me to announce the winners of my birthday blog candy!  But first, I have a little card to share with you!
OK...you can scroll down to see who won in case you can't stand it! LOL!

It always feels like Christmas when I receive a new Simon Says Stamp card kit!
So when I saw this one was Christmas theme, I was happy because I knew it would get me motivated to start making up some Christmas cards!  I so need to kick it in!

Here's my card...
I think I have used every element from the kit on my card here!  I love everything in it...I usually do, but I was excited to see the Lawn Fawn papers, the fun snowflake sequins and the liquid glue from Ranger that I've been wanting to try and it really DOES hold those sequins on nicely!  I like that it doesn't goosh out and look terrible after it dries!
(I know, weird little things like this make me happy!  LOL!)

I stamped the trees, the snowflake dots above that and the greeting along the side from the stamp set in the kit.  I used the Lawn Fawn papers for my background card base and for the red and white strip along the side of the tree panel.  I also punched a circle of the same tree papers that I attached the gold bow sticker on from the kit.  The sequins are also from the kit as well as the white card base and red card stock on my tree panel.

I love how this turned out!  And there's still PLENTY left in the kit to make tons more cards...so I just created more work for myself, right?!  LOL!

Here are some challenges that I'd like to enter this for:
The Paper Players

Allsorts - Christmas
The Pink Elephant (TPE274) - anything goes

Omit Stamping + Video!

Hello friends!!  Welcome to the last week in October!
Are you getting prepared for the cool weather?  It's been unusually nice over my way, so we've been doing what we can outdoors until the cold weather starts coming.

So today I have a card and a video showing how to do some "Omit Stamping"!
If you are "old-school" in stamping like myself, you've probably heard this before.  If you haven't, then you are missing out on a great way to really stretch those stamps you already have in your stash!

I decided to take some stamps that I already have and create my own thank you type greeting.  Perhaps you can do the same with yours?
Here's what I made:
I love how all the gold embossing turned out on this card.
I used some distress inks and water to brush over the feathers and created a fun banner with two different sentiment stamps to create my own specialized greeting that would work for a "thank you" type of sentiment.  It's a great way to stretch your stamps and make them work for you the way you want.  So check out the video below to see how I did this "omit stamping" technique:

If you'd like to watch in HD and enlarge on your screen, you can CLICK HERE to see it too!

And here's a closer look at the sentiment banner I made:
After making the banner, I embossed the edges of it with some gold embossing powder.
I hope you've enjoyed this video and learned how to stretch your stamps!

*Don't forget that you still have one more day to enter my BLOG CANDY!!*

Thanks so much for joining with me today!

Here are a few challenges I'd like to join with:

A Thankful Fall Fox

Hello friends and happy Friday to ya!
I'm here today to share a card using some adorable Lawn Fawn stamps!
Check it out...
I saw that the Lawnscaping Challenges was having either a Halloween challenge or to use the color combo provided which was basically Halloween in nature.
Now I really do love Halloween and love creating with Halloween type of things.  I don't send out Halloween cards, so it would be something that I would donate for children.
And on top of that...looking through my stash of Lawn Fawn stuff, I don't own any Halloween type of stamps...so I decided to see what I could come up with using the colors of:
orange, purple and black.

I was happy to see that I had the So Thankful stamp set which I thought I could use for the orange. I also had some old Fall papers that I could use to pull the color from as well.
Do you remember this fox from my Copic coloring class?  I told you that I would be using him on something soon...and here he is! (Check out this post if you don't remember!)
I took the Let it Snow stamp set and used it to clear emboss the stitched die circle and then I took some distress ink "seedless preserves" to go over the embossed image and make the stars and dots pop out from the purple. Of course I had to add a bit a sparkle to the stars!
Since black is so dramatic, I only used it for accents.  I also topped it off with some purple metallic ribbon to pull out some of that purple in the sky.  I think it looks like this fox is sitting in a pumpkin patch in the middle of the night! LOL!!

Here are some close-up details:
As you can see, I fussy cut the pumpkin and leaves and then layered them around the pumpkin and placed the pumpkin over top of the fox's feet so it looks like he's standing behind the pumpkin.  I also covered the pumpkin with glossy accents.

So I hope you like what I've done with my fox and the color combo!
Thanks so much for joining me today and I wish you all a wonderful weekend!!

A Wonder-FALL Color Combo!!

Hello friends!!  It's Wednesday already!  The nights are getting cooler, but I sure enjoy taking walks in the afternoon watching the leaves turn colors and looking brilliant and pretty!
I was so inspired by this and I thought it was a perfect time to create with Fall colors!
...and here's what I did:
I used the leaf and did a little "emboss resist" for the background and blended some distress inks over it.  I then stamped the background in Vanilla Pigment ink to make a fun tree bark look.  I repeated the same steps minus the emboss resist for my sentiment panel.  I also took the distress inks to ink up my leaf and then I fussy cut it out and popped it over the green banner and added some twine.
I took the sentiment and shortened it up to condense it for my card.
I love how versatile these stamps are...so many techniques and so little time to do them all! :)

Here's a closer look at my leaf:
It's so hard to capture the shimmer/sparkle in a photo...so I hope you can see the shimmer on the leaf where I used my Wink of Stella glitter pen.  You can also better see the stamping that I've done.

And here are some challenges I'd like to enter the above card for:

Sketch Saturday:

OK...so now...on a more HUMOROUS view of this challenge, here's another card I came up with:
TEE HEE!!  I couldn't help but add the eye glasses and googly eyes to the stamped leaf especially using this sentiment with it!

I've changed the colors slightly on this one for a lighter feel.  The leaf was stamped in the background and I also did the "rock 'n roll" technique on the leaf I cut out and put the glasses on.
I have layered my sentiment panel with vellum and gold embossed the sentiment on it.  Underneath is where I stamped another layer of the leaves.
I covered the wood veneer eye glasses with gold embossing powder and glued them on my leaf.  I added some googly eyes in the center of the glasses.  The leaf is popped up over a stitched circle die cut with gold card stock.  I also went around the panel with my paper pierce for a stitched look.

Here are some challenges I'd like to enter my eye glass leaf card for:
Through the Craft Room Door - anything goes

(I used gold card stock, gold embossing powder for sentiment and eye glasses)

It's a Colorful Tuesday Throwdown!

Hello friends!  It's getting cooler and the weather is changing over my way with beautiful Fall colors!
I love going for a walk with hubby and my "fur baby" to enjoy it in our neighborhood!
How about you?  What weather are you experiencing where you live?

I have a fun challenge to share with you today over at

There is a very fitting color combo for you try out:
These are perfect Halloween type of colors, but of course you don't have to make a Halloween creation for this, you can just take inspiration from the colors!
This is exactly what I did:
I have used the really cute Everyday Jargon digital stamp set from our kind sponsor this week, Doodle Panty.  (Click on the link to see all of the different items in this set!)  So many fun things to mix and match and work with including digital papers!  Another great thing about these sets is that you can choose to print out the colored version or not...so it makes creating with them very easy!

I have used everything from the set with the exception of the card stock which I pulled some black and purple colors from my stash that I thought matched up nicely.  I also took some distressed mowed lawn ink to distress the edges of the image panel and sentiment panel too.

I used my corner chomper to round the edges, the scalloped black border going across the middle is from a die cut.  I punched out the sentiment with an oval punch and some purple card stock with my oval scallop punch.  I popped it up over the border with foam tape and that's it for my card!
I went over the candy corns in the jar with my Wink of Stella glitter pen. (Hard to see in the photo.)

So please now...hop on over to the Tuesday Throwdown challenge blog to see all of the gorgeous inspiration with this color combo from my fellow teamies!
We can't wait to see what you all come up with using this color combo!!

Thanks for joining me today and don't forget about my Birthday Blog Candy if you haven't left me a comment yet over there!  You have about one week left to enter!
See you again tomorrow!

Here are some challenges I'd like to enter this for:
Doodle Pantry - anything goes
613 Avenue - anything goes with optional candy treats
House of Cards - A Punch or a Die or Both (I used both)

I'm Doing a Penguin Party!

Hello friends!  Hope you had a great weekend!
Today I'd like to share some creations with you using a brand new stamp set that I was lucky enough to get for my birthday from a dear blog friend Monika!  Thank you so much my friend!  I have really enjoyed playing around and creating with it!
I've made a fun birthday card and a couple of Christmas tags with this DARLING set from Create a Smile called Penguin Party. (You can click on the link to see all the images in the set.)
This is a fairly new company that has started up this Summer and the owner is from Germany.  I can tell that this is going to be a fabulous place to shop!  I hope I can purchase some items sometime soon!  They have much more than just clear stamps!  So go check it out!

They are also having a December Guest Design Call that I'm trying out for.

I had tried out for their guest designer call last time with one of their freebie images because I didn't own any of their stamps yet.  CLICK HERE to see that post on my blog.

Here are the close-up details of my projects:
I took that cute peeping penguin from the set and paper pieced the gift box with some Christmas looking papers.  I colored him and popped him on this die cut tag.  I've also heat embossed the "For You" sentiment on each tag.  I topped the tags off with some twine.

Looking at these now, I see that the colors make them perfect for Christmas or ANY time really.  They would be great on a general present for any occasion I thought.

For my card, I thought it would be fun to take the inspiration from the colors of the Create a Smile logo!  I matched up the colors for my design and used the sentiments in the set to create a fun background banner and die cut a stitched circle for my cake topper penguin.  Then I just cut the edge off of the circle to match up with the banner and added the sentiment at the bottom, some sequins and ribbon to finish it off.

And here's a close-up view of the penguin:
I've colored him with my Copic markers and added some sparkle to the lighted candles with some Stickles glitter glue and I used my silver glitter pen to color his party horn.  I fussy cut him out and popped him up with foam tape on the circle.

I just adore penguins and I do have quite a collection of them in my stash that I just can't bare to part with!  I know that this penguin set will be fitting very nicely into that collection and I look forward to pulling it out again for play time! :)

Hope you've enjoyed my projects today and I'm so glad you've stopped by!
I'll be back again with another creation tomorrow!  See you then!

Are You Playing Along?

Hello friends!  Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend!  I'm soooo glad it's Friday and I can put this weird and crazy week behind me!
I am SO excited to be apart of the BE Inspired (TAWS) Challenge this month!
This is the second week of awesome inspiration for this challenge!  So be sure to check out what the TAWS design team has to inspire you with THIS week and I look forward to seeing what you come up with for it!
(You have a couple more weeks left to play, but don't let your time run out!)
*Just remember you need to use a TAWS stamp or get one from their FREEBIES!*

For this month's challenge, here's the really FUN and festive looking inspirational photo:

This time, I took inspiration from the bottom right photo with the deer.
Here's the card that I made:
So I thought this darling little bunny from the Now You See Me stamp set would work to mimic the deer and for the garland across his antlers, I used some sequins of the same colors.  I also took the arrows in the bottom corner for inspiration to use the feather from the same stamp set coming from the hat.  The hat image and the sentiment come from the TA-DA stamp set. (These two sets work perfectly together so I highly recommend getting both!)   Although it has Halloween looking colors, I think this card could be used for a fun birthday card as well!

Here's a closer look at this darling bunny with his bugged-out eyeballs:
For the orange sequins, I did not have any that color, so I took some white sequins and colored them with an orange Copic marker.  The bunny was also colored with my Copic markers.  For the bunny's eyes, hat trim and feathers, I covered them with my Wink of Stella glitter pen.  I also have added some rhinestones to the centers of the orange colored sequins.  I popped the hat and the bunny out by fussy cutting them and adding some foam tape to pop them up on the card.

It's a very simple and clean looking card, but I love how it turned out!
Hope I've inspired you to look at the inspirational photo in a different way!  I would love to see what you come up with for this challenge!
Thanks for stopping in and enjoy your weekend!

Floral and Food Birthdays!

Hello friends!  It's been a crazy week so far and I'm ready for Friday already!! LOL!
I am hoping to get into my stamp room today for some quiet time to stamp!

So here is my first card using some of my fave colors...
I needed to take the photo of this card directly straight and turned outward at an angle so that you could see the pretty silver embossed sentiment.

Purple is my fave color and I thought this Daisy Basket  would look stunning with the purple colors.  I colored it in with my Copic and I also stamped it a second time and cut out about three of the daisies and popped them up over the image.  I die cut it out with my stitched circle die and added a bow on it.  The Kraft panel was stamped in Versamark. The sentiment was heat embossed with silver embossing powder.  For the purple plum panel, I took some white pigment ink and sponged around the edges of it to soften up the look.

Here is a closer look at the flowers...
You can see where a couple of the flowers are popped up on foam tape and I also added some wink of stella over top of them and then took my white gel pen to add a few dots.

Here are some challenges that I want to enter this card for:
Sketch Saturday

Inkspirational - Purple with Grey/Silver
(I only used the inspirational photo and not the sketch)

Top Tip Tuesday - Your Favorite Color Combo (purple and anything!)
SCS Hope You Can Cling To (HYCCT1401A) - "You Raise Me Up" (popped up elements on card)

And yes, I have a second card to share with you as well!
I also wanted to be sure to tell you about a couple of challenges going on right now.  So check it out...
I stamped the greeting with black Memento ink and then took my Copic markers and scribbled over the wording to give it a bit of color.

I thought the colors I used would be perfect for either a guy or gal for a birthday card.

The cupcake was the perfect pairing for this sentiment I thought!  I stamped it twice, colored it with my Copic markers and cut out the frosting and cherry part to pop it up on the image and then I add some more fun details that you can see more closely below...
So as you can now see more closely, I've popped up the frosting and I covered it with my Wink of Stella pen for some shimmer.  I also covered the cherry with glossy accents.  This cupcake was then popped up over the card to sit alongside the fun birthday sentiment.

 Tuesday Morning Sketches challenge blog!
So here's the fun sketch which is what I've used on my card above:

So here are the challenges that I'd like to enter my cupcake card for:
Aud Sentiments - anything goes
Alphabet Challenge - 'R' for Round or Rectangle (I used rectangles!)

(using up older papers, foam tape and embossing folder)

So I hope to see you play along in some of these challenges with me and I'd love to see what you come up with!  Thanks so much for stopping in today!

BE Inspired by The Alley Way Stamps - Guest Design Post

Hello friends!  Happy Friday and welcome to the weekend!

I am SO excited to be apart of the BE Inspired (TAWS) Challenge this month!
I had won a previous challenge and was honored when I had won a guest design spot.

For this month's challenge, here's the really FUN and festive looking inspirational photo:

So, if you look at the top right photo with the spider, this is the one that I focused on for the inspiration with the card I'm sharing today:
I tell you, this little guy really makes me smile!  He's actually really not a Halloween type of guy at all, but I didn't have any Halloween stamps...so I used this fun TAWS stamp set called Meltdown.  The sentiment at the bottom comes from the Now You See Me stamp set.

I was inspired by the top right inspirational photo and used the black twine and button to mimic the spider in the corner.  The mirror inspired my white panel with a vellum overlay and I embossed the eyeballs to mimic the webbing over mirror.  The little “one-eyed” guy is meant to mimic the lamp on the table.

Here's a closer view of the "orange pill guy"...
I've got him popped up over the vellum and I colored him in with my Copics and added some glossy accents to his eyeball.  I took a white gel pen and added some dots to his cheeks and then added a bow with some black twine that I colored with my Copic marker and then I added some black enamel dots to the ends of his antennas.

So what do think?  Want to play along?  Go check out the challenge blog...CLICK HERE!
Don't have any TAWS stamps?

I can't wait to see what you'll be coming up with using the photo!!
Thanks for stopping in today!  Have a great weekend!

Today, I'm sharing some creations I made using these stamps from this release:

and also...

Here is a close look at the box....
I couldn't resist coloring up this sweet *NEW* O'Holey Night stamp from the Crissy Armstrong Collection!  I thought it would be sweet to put on the front of my box for a Christmas present!  I used some liquid applique for the fur trimming on the hats.  I also used some "faux snowflakes" to the bottom of the mice for a touch of sparkly snow.

The kraft box was also stamped with white ink using the "star burst" image from the SC Designs Clear Stamps Collection "Thanks a Million".  (You'll also see me use this in the video below.)  I tied a bow over top of the box with some pretty gold metallic ribbon and then I tied on a tag from the *NEW* Notable Collections 2 stamp set by Raindrop Echo Designs Collection.

For the gift card/money holders:
Here I've used the *NEW* Notable Collections 2 stamp set by Raindrop Echo Designs Collection in various ways besides just using them as a gift tag like you saw on my gift box above.

Here is a closer view of the center gift card/money holder and the video showing you how to make one of these easy holders for yourself!
Here you can see that I've added a gift card inside the envelope and it's perfect for hanging up on your tree until it's time to open Christmas presents!  I colored the tag with the snowman using my Copic markers and fussy cut it out to pop on the front.

If you'd like to learn how I made this, check out the video below:
