Happy New Year Full View Shaker Card with Fuse Tool + Video!!

Hello friends!
Christmas is over now and I hope that you have enjoyed every minute of it!
The end of the month is quickly approaching and so that means it's almost time for a NEW YEAR!
I happen to be pretty excited about the prospects for 2016, how about you?

So in the spirit of the season, I thought it would be fun to "shake things up" a bit more:
Isn't this such a fun concept!  I have stuck the numbers on the outside of the design.  There is a full card front inside that I have decorated.  I have also decorated the outside clear plastic and sealed it together after putting lots of fun sequins and sparkly stars inside of it!  (I thought the back would be a great place for a party invite or a special message to someone.)  If you just want to say "hello" and wish them a great New Year, I think this would just put a smile on anyone's face! :)

I have used the Fuse Tool to seal the plastic storage sleeve together after adding in the sequins.  The numbers on the front of the plastic sleeve are from an older die cut set from Stampin' Up! (not available).  I used my Xyron sticker maker machine to attach them to the front.

Here's a closer look at the details of the image:
This image is so cute!  I had a blast getting it all colored and glittered up!  This image is from Whimsy Stamps Drawn with Character Collection and is called Champagne Celebration.  The embossed sentiment above the champagne couple is from the Whimsy Stamps Christmas Scene Builder as well as the stamped white "snow/confetti" on the outside plastic sleeve that was stamped in white Staz On ink.  The image was colored with my Copic markers and I've added some sparkle with my clear Sakura gel pen and Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.  I think the "champagne" color turned out nicely with everything together.  For the embossed sentiment, I have used the Ranger Liquid Platinum embossing powder.

If you'd like to see the process on how I put this together, you can check out the details in my video below!  CLICK HERE to see it on You Tube or you can just watch it below:

Be sure that you if you do check out my video on You Tube to give it a thumbs up!  I have been working so hard on getting my videos just right and it would help to know that you would like to see more videos from me in the future! :)

For the sequins inside of the shaker card, I have used the Whimsy Stamps Pierced Stacking Star die and cut it out with some glitter paper.  I have used several different kinds of sequins that I believe was purchased in a set from My Favorite Things.

Hope you've enjoyed my creation today!  Be sure to catch all of the products over at Whimsy Stamps!  Thanks for stopping by!!

Whimsy Stamps 12 Days of Christmas - DAY 11!!

Hello friends!
It is now getting closer and closer to the BIG day! :)  Are you ready?!
I think I have pretty much everything ready to go all except for the baking and up-coming big dinner food prep ...oh and the cleaning...which I'm working on right now!

Hope you've been enjoying the "12 Days of Christmas" event so far!
We are on DAY 11 which means that there is only ONE more day left!!  Don't worry, you still have time to gather up all of the letters from each posting day and try to "unscramble" what word/phrase that we want you figure out!  :)  Hope you will come join us in the fun and inspiration over there.  There are some really amazing projects from the DT too!

And no, I do not have "11 pipers piping" today! LOL!  However, I hope you will settle for an adorable penguin on a small gift box:
I can't believe that I've never attempted to try out one of these 2-4-6-8 boxes!  They are super easy to for any of you looking to wrap up the "last minute" small gifts, this is a brilliant way to get it done quickly AND it's something hand made that you can quickly put together too!

I also thought that since we are so close to Christmas, I would make something that could also be used for special party favors or even a winter birthday gift package idea....for those of you that are good little elves and have everything ready to go that is!! :)  LOL!

I have used the Clearly Whimsy stamp set Penguins Winter Adventure along with the coordinating dies for this gift box project.  Before I assembled the box, I stamped the little snowflakes from the stamp set with a slightly darker blue ink so they would show up nicely.  I've also used the Whimsy Shapeology die Stiched Circiles Die Set to cut out a circle with some white glitter card stock to go behind the penguin.  I cut just a portion of that circle off that was hanging over the edge of the box.  The top of the box was rounded off with my corner chomper and I used my Crop-o-dile to punch a couple of holes to close the top of the box with some ribbon and then I added a snowflake rhinestone that I actually had left over from the Whimsy Stamps November 2015 card kit...including some of the blue sequins that was added to the front. (This card kit has sold out, but there will be a brand new kit in January coming stay tuned in!)

Here's a closer look at this darling penguin:
I have used my Copic markers to color him in with.  I added some dotting to his hat and scarf for a little bit of "furry texture" on his outfit.  :)  Both the penguin and chunk of ice he is standing on were cut out with the Penguins Winter Adventure Dies, I glued him to the ice and then popped him up over the glitter circle with some foam squares.  I've also added a couple of dots to his cheeks with a white gel pen for highlights.  For the chuck of ice he's standing on, I've covered it with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen but it's hard to see in the photo of course! ;)

I hope you've enjoyed my project for today for the Whimsy Stamps 12 Days of Christmas Event!
Be sure to check the Whimsy Stamps Blog so you don't miss out on collecting the letters from each day!  There is ONE more day be sure to check it out on the blog tomorrow too!

I also wanted to take this opportunity to wish all of my readers here a very
I'm thankful to have you apart of my crafty adventures!

Last Minute Gift Idea - Shaker Money Holders! + VIDEO + Coffee Break Stamp Set WINNER!

Hello friends!
Are you all ready for Christmas?!
If you are in the same "boat" with me, then the answer is NO! LOL!

I have most things done, but my Christmas baking and preparations will be going on all this week, so while I am waiting for cookies in the oven...then it's time to do some stamping while I'm waiting in between...yes, I multi task like that!  I actually find this time as "getting me in the Christmas mood" because it's all of those last minutes of rushing around and humming Christmas tunes is what I really love about this Holiday!  I always think about the people that I'm gifting while I'm making things up and this is what is really special to me.  I can't wait to see everyone! :)

So...if you are "lurking around" the blogs and such, I hope you'll find this useful or at least something that you can reserve for next year if you like the idea.

But I have made these fun "Shaker Money Holders" for those people that receive gifts in the form of cash from me usually every year.  I find this not just the fact that it's easiest, but I find it the BEST because no matter the age, one size fits ALL, you don't have to return it and you don't have to go to a special place to use can use it wherever and however you find it useful.  Many people, including most of my family, are in different times in their lives and need money for various things that they may not ask for in a gift, so I think this is a great idea to give out.

I "went to town" and made several of them at one sitting because I found them so easy:
I have pulled out some tools that I don't use often including some of my fave Lawn Fawn products including some fun sequins that need to be used up and some extra plastic storage sleeves laying I thought this is was just a great idea all together!

For the "money holders", I have used those plastic storage pockets/envelopes (by Avery Elle) and included some sequins from my stash in various colors, shapes and sizes.  I show in the video how to get the shaker contents on both the front and back of the design.  Of course to seal the money pocket holder together, I have used my Fuse Tool, but I also mention in the video that you could use some "red line tape" or "sticky strip" to hold it together too.  (I think the Fuse Tool is the best bet for securing a hold to the contents stay together well.)

And of course to decorate it, I have pulled out my fave Lawn Fawn stamps!  The one that I've used on all of them is called Critters in the Snow.  I think they're so cute! :)  Now, I show in the video the Xyron Sticker Maker machine to add some adhesive on the back of the cut out pieces so that they become "stickers" to the add to the shaker money holders.  I forget about this and don't use it as often I should be.  It's a great way to attach cut out pieces to something like this! :)  The "Merry Christmas" sentiment also comes from the Lawn Fawn set called Let it Snow.  The circle sentiment with the igloo and penguin on it came from an older Stampin' Up! set.

I also have added on some various ribbons from my stash and attached them with sticky strip and/or glue dots.  They seem to hold together on the plastic pretty well.

Here's a close-up view of the igloo penguin one:
Of course it looks so fun with money in it!! LOL!!

If you'd like to see this fun shaker holder in action and if you'd like to make one for yourself in case you're needing a last minute gift idea...I have made a quick video for you:
To view the video, you can CLICK HERE to see it on You Tube or you can just view it below:

It was really easy, right?!  If you have one of these tools and haven't used it yet, this is a great way to get started with it!  Plus, I'll have more ideas coming with it soon!  So stay tuned in!

Here are some closer views of the other money holders:
I know it may seem funny, but I believe that I have each one figured out of who gets what "critter" for their gift!! LOL!!  I do this as I'm making them up...I think of each person.

I think this deer is so cute, but so pretty at the same time.  For this one, I've decided to add one of the white snowflake sequins to the front.  You could also stamp with some Staz On ink before you put the shaker contents inside if you wanted to do that.  I found that I didn't want to cover too much of the front of them so that people could have fun shaking it up! :)

THE WINNER OF THE WHIMSY STAMPS "Coffee Break" stamp set is.....
#78 - Dawn

Congrats Dawn!!  I have already contacted the winner and waiting to hear from her.
If a redraw is needed, I will let you know.

Thanks so much for dropping in today!!  I hope you've enjoyed my tutorial for a last minute Christmas gift idea!! :)  I'll be back soon!!

Snoopy Christmas

Hello friends!
**There is literally just a few minutes still left to enter for a chance to win the Whimsy Stamps "Coffee Break" stamp set if you haven't entered yet!!  CLICK HERE to see details!**
Whew!  I have to say that although I had a small stack of Christmas cards this year, I still didn't have enough to send out and had to make a couple more and I will just have to call it done.

SO...I couldn't let this Christmas slip pass me without recognizing that The Peanuts Gang is on their 50th Anniversary!!  I remember it just wasn't a Christmas unless we got to see this cartoon every year.  I remember sitting cross-legged in front of the television before bed time enjoying something sweet with a glass of milk watching the Christmas show!  It is also a favorite of hubby's and he even wears a shirt with the characters on it every year too!  I know it is still a favorite among many.

So I decided to make up a few last minute Christmas cards with my "Decorated Dog House" rubber stamp.  I do have a small collection of Peanuts rubber stamps and still enjoy pulling them out once in a while to color.  So I've made some CAS cards:
This is just a one layer white A2 sized card based card that I have stamped the image with and colored it in with my Copic markers.  I used my Copic liner pen to "extend" the line for the snow covered ground.  I also used it to make my own "Christmas Light Bulbs" on the sentiment which is actually a stamp from Lawn Fawn called Winter Scripty Sayings.  I thought it went will with the "curly" looking Christmas lights around Snoopy's dog house.

The Christmas Lights were colored in with my gel pens and it's hard to see in the photo, but I have also covered the snow on the ground with my Wink of Stella glitter pen.
I just had some fun this afternoon coloring so I can get my cards mailed out. ;)

And just for enjoyment while you are here, I thought you might like to "listen" to the nostalgic song and watch the "photo captures" from the TV show:

I will still be back with something fun to share with you before a last minute gift idea if you are behind like myself!!  I will share the process with you as I make them up!!  So hope you will have time to stop back in next week before the festive day begins!!

Thanks for stopping by and spending time here my friends!
Enjoy your weekend during the hustle and bustle!! :)

Whimsy Stamps "Twelve Days of Christmas" Event - Day 4 + VIDEO!

If you are looking for my Coffee Lover's Blog Hop post and/or to enter for
a chance to win the "Coffee Break" stamp set - CLICK HERE!

Hello friends!
We are getting closer and closer to Christmas...are you ready?!!
Yeah, I'm getting there in bits and pieces right now!! LOL!!

So happy you have stopped here today!
Have you been following along over on the
  Whimsy Stamps Inspirations Blog?
Sunday was the first day of their "12 Days of Christmas Event"!
There has been lots and lots of inspiration over there every day from the talented design team members along with a fun game and a chance at winning a prize!  Don't worry if you haven't been over there on the first day BECAUSE there is a special "hint" on every post for a chance at there is still PLENTY of time to "collect" all of the clues!! :)

I hope you will pop on over there to join in the fun and see some inspiration!
Today is  "...the Fourth Day of Christmas, my true love sent to me..." (are you singing now?!)
Well sorry to disappoint anyone, but I do NOT have  the "four calling birds" to share!  LOL!

However, what I do have is a very fun and easy Christmas ornament:
Yes, at least I did manage to get my Christmas tree up and decorated! :)
I have wanted to make these ornaments for such a long time and was excited to be able to put a couple of them together this year!

They're so pretty in person and I think it would be fun to make several of these to match your tree colors or recycle those Christmas cards or use up those papers with that we always seem to hoard so much of!  It really doesn't take that much to make either! (Well, depending upon the size you make, it will take up more paper the larger you go with it.)

For the smaller of these two ornaments, that I show you how to make in the video below, I have used the papers from the Whimsy Stamps October 2015 Christmas Card Kit.  (They are SOLD OUT of this AND the November kit as well, BUT....don't worry, they will be coming out with a brand new card kit next month for stay tuned in for it!!)

I have also used the Whimsy Stamps Stitched Circles Die Set to cut out all of the circles to make the ornament.  I thought it was fun to use this die to cut them out because it has the stitched lines on each circle and it gives the ornaments a little extra decorative element.  You could actually use any shape you want, but I found that the circles were easiest to work with.

I have also just used some basic supplies I had on hand like the gold cord to tie the circles together and the loop for hanging on the tree.  I have also used a hot glue gun, but you could also use any strong adhesive that you might have on hand along with some liquid glue, gold ribbon and gold glitter for decorating the top of the ornament if you'd like.

To see how I've put together these ornaments, check out the video below!
CLICK HERE to see it on You Tube or just watch it below:

I hope that you have enjoyed my 4th Day of Christmas inspiration!  :)
Please be sure to hop on over to the Whimsy Stamps Inspirations blog to see what the new clue is and be sure you don't miss a day to pick up the clues for a chance at winning a prize! While you're there, you can view all of the wonderful inspiration!

Hope you enjoy the rest of the "12 Days of Christmas" event! ;)

Thanks so much for dropping in and I'll see you soon!

Christmas Colors for {Cupcake Inspirations}!

If you are looking for my Coffee Lover's Blog Hop post and/or to enter for my give away -
CLICK HERE! - or scroll to the next post below.

Hello friends!
Happy Sunday!  Hope you are having a wonderful weekend so far!
We have been super busy doing the seasonal "errand running" as in the "hustle & bustle" of the Holiday Season.  LOL! This whole thing has went super fast, but somehow I always manage to get through everything OK.  How about you?  You feeling the pressure of the Holidays?

So today starts a brand new challenge and the final one for the 2015 year over at
{Cupcake Inspirations}
Such a super fun inspirational photo!  I love it!  And the colors look nice and festive as well!  Of course I think if you don't want to do Christmas, it can be used for other occasions as well! :)
So all you need to do for this challenge is use the colors:  Poppy, White & Sky on your creation!

Our wonderful sponsor for this challenge is:
(Click on badge to be taken to the store.)
The winner will receive 2 Wags N Whiskers digital images!
Sadly, I see this is another store closing and they have marked down their prices.

I was very inspired by the photo as it reminded me of all of the Christmas baking that I enjoy doing every year for my kids.  They all have a favorite of course!
So here's what I've come up with using the above colors in mind:
Can you say YUM?!  LOL!  So I've pulled out this really fun Clearly Whimsy Stamp set called Gingerbread House along with the coordinating dies to match it and just had a great time putting together my own gingerbread house!  (This is about as close as I'll ever get to building my own gingerbread house! So much easier this way!! LOL!)

So you can see that I've stamped the house and then die cut it out.  I've also die cut the other accents from the set to build upon my house in the different colors.  For the chimney, I have actually used the Clearly Whimsy Stamps set Basic Backgrounds & Borders to stamp the red stripes to give it that candy cane look!  Of course to make the snowy hills and the fun red scalloped pieces on the edge of the design, I've pulled out the Whimsy die set Stitched Border die Trio (for the snow hills) and the Basic Border Trio dies (for the red trim edging).

For the blue sky background, I have stamped the snowfall border image from the Clearly Whimsy Stamps set Basic Christmas Backgrounds.  I have stamped it in white and embossed it with some sparkly clear embossing powder.  It's a little hard to see in the photo, but it sparkles so pretty IRL!  I have also added some red twine along with some linen thread to a snowflake button around the top of the sky blue background.  For the greeting in the front, I have used the same Gingerbread House stamp set and stamped it in different colors to match the design.  I have also popped up the house and the front snow hill with foam tape.

All that was left was to add a circle peppermint candy embellishment sticker to the peek in the gingerbread house.  I had fun piecing everything together and best of all, it didn't fall apart and I won't gain any calories for it!! LOL!

Unfortunately, this will be my last challenge as a design team member for {Cupcake Inspirations}.  So I hope you will play along with us in the color challenge and do peek on over at the challenge blog to see what the rest of the team has come up with using these colors!
I want to thank all of the lovely ladies for making me apart of this fun and inspirational team!  I will certainly be a fan and play along of course!  Best wishes to you all!

Thanks so much for stopping in and have a great day! :)

First, I wanted to share with you the project I made today using some fun products from

(They are also a proud sponsor for this blog hop, so be sure to catch them with the sponsor links and don't forget to check out their Inspirations Blog, Facebook Fans Page & You Tube Channel so you can get new updates about their products and continued inspiration using them!)

Here's the project that I wanted to share with you especially made for this blog hop:
Well, I've actually made TWO of these at one time because they are actually really easy and fun to make!  So when you lift open the top envelope flap, the gift card pops up along with it!
(Please be sure to catch the video below so you can see it in action!)

I made these especially for the Holiday gift giving season to give out a gift card to my coffee loving family members and friends.  Whimsy Stamps has a cute clear stamp set bundle that would be perfect for coffee lovers and with a discount when you purchase the bundle!
You can also get these separately and I go over them in the video as well, but I have used the Clearly Whimsy Stamp set Coffee Break (See details below on how to win one!) and the Whimsy Stamps Coffee Cup die set that coordinates with this set.   I have also used some other elements from other Clearly Whimsy Stamp sets to make the background like the splatters from the Distressed Backgrounds and Ink Splats set as well as the snowflake and "Happy Christmas" sentiment from the Christmas Greetings set.

I have colored in the cup with my Copic markers and I've made my own "fish tail" banner to put the sentiment on and  I cut out the cup with the coordinating die set.  The strip of decorative border behind the flap was made by cutting out a strip of red card stock with one of the border dies from the Whimsy Stamps Basic Border Trio dies set.  I've also added another fun element to these with some silver ribbon, some twine and some silver jingle bells for the flap.  I finished off the design by adding a snowflake rhinestone (From the Whimsy Stamps November card kit!) to the coffee cup!

To see the full details on how to make one of these gift card holders,
check out the video below.  You can watch it straight from here or you can CLICK HERE to view it on You Tube.  ENJOY!!

It's CAS time at Addicted to Stamps & More!

Good evening friends!
I've been slowly trying to get all of my Christmas creations done so that I can send them out!
So I wanted to share with you a simple way to get them done if you haven't yet with our challenge over at
(Click badge to be taken to the blog!)

The challenge for this week is my fave - CAS = Clean & Simple
For all the CAS inspiration from the DT, please be sure to visit the challenge blog!

We also have a great sponsor joining with us this week as well:
(click badge to be taken to the store.)
They are giving away SEVEN digital images to a lucky winner!  So be sure you don't miss out!

They were also kind enough to give the design team some images to work with and here's what I've come up with using one of them:
I had so much fun with this card!  I have used this gorgeous digital stamp from Bugaboo called Snowflake Reindeer Silhouette.  Before printing it out on my computer, I had some options from my word.doc program to change up the color, so I thought it would be fun to print it up like this.  I like how some of the snowflakes turned out light brown and some white within the image.

After I printed it out, I took my LF Stitched Rectangle die to cut it out.  I then took a sentiment from one of my stamp sets in my stash and stamped it with Early Espresso ink. (I can't recall right now which set it was from! LOL!)   I decided to cut out a layer of Early Espresso card stock to put behind it as well as cut a couple of snowflakes from a Memory Box die I had.  I also cut an additional one out with glitter paper to add with the brown ones.  I've also taken my photo corner punch and punched out a couple from the glitter paper to put on two of the corners behind my brown panel.

This entire layer was popped up over my white A2 sized card base with some craft foam or fun foam for extra dimension.  I love the brown color with the sparkle added to it!

Hope you've enjoyed my CAS creation today!
This will be last challenge as a design team member for them.  Just wanted to say thanks to Kylie and the other girls for having me along this last year...I sure had fun!!

Thanks so much stopping by!  See you soon!

{Cupcake Inspirations} says "Let it Snow!"

Hello friends!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend!
We have plans today to see our new grand baby again!  Looking forward to holding her! :)

So today I wanted to share with you the new challenge over at
{Cupcake Inspirations}
I just love this inspirational photo!!  So pretty! :)
So of course all you need to do for this challenge is "Add Snow" to your project!
Simple and easy, right?  Hope you will join us this week!

Our sponsor for this challenge is
(Click badge to be taken to their store!)

They were kind enough to send along some images for the team to work with and so I have chosen to use the Snowflake Swirl digital set to create my project today:
I've decided to keep my design very CAS for this because I think it makes the snowflakes stand out even more with the pearl centers. :)
To do this with a digital image, I have taken the image with four snowflakes in it and added it four times to my design by changing the position and colors before printing it all out.  I've also used the sentiment within the set and changed it to a light blue color.  It just takes a couple of minutes to get it looking how you want before printing it out.

I then took my LF stitched rectangle die to cut it out, I mounted it on top of a piece of specialty shimmer paper.  (It looks so beautiful IRL!!)  Then this was mounted onto an A2 sized white card base.  The last thing I did was cover the snowflakes with my Wink of Stella clear glitter pen, which of course you can't see, and then I added the blue pearls to the centers of the larger flakes.

Hope you've enjoyed my CAS snowflakes today!  Please be sure to stop by the challenge blog to see the rest of the stunning creations from the design team!  We look forward to seeing your designs!
Thanks so much for stopping in today!  I enjoy having you here! :)

Whimsy Stamps Wednesday VIDEO - Christmas Shaker Ornament Tag!

Hello friends!
It is now officially the month of December!  Are we getting close to Christmas or what?!
Time to start making things up for Christmas!  :) - unless you already finished in which case I am totally jealous of you!! LOL!!

On a side note, I wanted to share a bit of special news if you didn't see it on my FB page:
On November 30th, hubby and I became proud grandparents of our new granddaughter
Ella Jean Parson!

She was 7 lbs. 13 oz. and 20.5" long.
She's the most precious little girl and we couldn't be more happy!  Can't wait until we can see her again soon! :)

So today, I have some special Christmas inspiration for you with a "Shaker Ornament Tag" using Whimsy Stamps products!

To watch the complete details on how I've put together this tag, catch it all in my video below or CLICK HERE to watch on You Tube.

I'm thinking of all of those yummy treats we get at Christmas time! :)  I love to add those candy canes to the Christmas tree so that my family can gradually "pluck" them off to use as stir sticks for their hot cocoa!! There is usually lots of baking going on this time of year for me, so it will be fun to start that up again very soon!

For my ornament, I have used several Whimsy Stamps products on my design.
I have started out assembling the shaker ornament by using the Whimsy Stamps Stitched Circles die set to make the frame, window and backing for my shaker.  To make the top "ornament holder tab", I just used the Whimsy Stamps Stitched Tag dies by die cutting the second largest tag in the set and then I just cut off the top portion of the tag to use for it.

The peppermint candies for the shaker contents came from the Clearly Whimsy Stamp set called "Sweet as Candy-Sweet Images".  I used a circle punch to punch out the shapes and add to the rest of the shaker contents inside.  The gingerbread man was stamped and fussy cut out in addition to the sentiment was done using the Clearly Whimsy Stamp set called "Gingerbread House".  I thought he would be so cute to add to this design!

Hope you've enjoyed my Christmas project today!
Thanks so much for stopping by!!

I also have some inspiration to share with you today using a Clearly Whimsy Stamp set called "Happy Hanukkah"!  Just having some fun...
I am not Jewish or celebrate in this way, but I couldn't resist creating with this fun clear stamp set as I thought there were so many cute elements in it that you could even use for a birthday theme with some of the other images within the set.  You really need to check it out!  If you are Jewish, I'd love to know so I can send a card out to you and/or a friend that would enjoy one of these.  :)  - I do know that Hanukkah begins on December 7th of this year.

For my first card:
I have taken the Whimsy Stamps Stitched Border die Trio and made the snowy looking slope with the sentiment stamped at the bottom.  I have used the "dots" from the "Happy Hanukkah" set and embossed them with white EP on the light blue background.  The "dreidel" images were stamped on the white card stock with navy ink.  I've also taken my silver gel pen and added a few accents to them.  The dotted one was fussy cut and popped up over the WS Stitched Circles panel.
I added some silver ribbon with a bow over the top of the white embossed snowy sky.

Here's a look at my second card:
For this card, I've done some ink foam blending.  You can see the bottom portion of my card where I took some yellow colored distress ink to blend in towards the bottom fading out up towards the card.
The other ink foam blending that I've done is on the stars.  I stamped and clear embossed the stars on white card stock.  I then took some blue ink to go over top of the stars.  The embossing resists the ink and shows through it.

I fussy cut all of the stars and popped them up with foam tape and attached a silver thread to each one that wraps around the back of the front panel.  I embossed the "celebrate" sentiment with white EP on a piece of blue card stock and made my own banner with scissors.

Lastly, I've added some silver sequins and then added a drop of silver Stickles in the center of each one.  I really like the extra silver sparkle on it! :)

Hope you've enjoyed my Hanukkah inspiration today!!
Thanks so much for stopping in and don't forget to get on over to the Whimsy Stamps store to shop today on Cyber Monday to catch a great deal!! :)
See you soon!

Blues and Golds for {Cupcake Inspirations}

Hello friends!
Hope that you have all enjoyed your Thanksgiving weekend!
I always enjoy spending time with my family and enjoying good food!  So now it's time to get in gear for the Christmas Season, right?!

Here to share with you a new challenge over at
{Cupcake Inspirations}
This week we have a beautiful color combination:
So please use the colors:  Aquamarine, Midnight & Gold on your creations this week

We also have a wonderful sponsor joining us with week as well
The winner of this challenge will receive 2 images of choice!
So be sure to play along for your chance to win!

The team was kindly provided some images to use for this challenge, so here's what I've come up with for the colors:
I have used the darling image called Happy Christmas Little Star.  I opened the image with Photoshop on my computer and took off the set of presents on it before printing it out on some Copic Blending Card.   I used some Stitched Rectangle dies to cut out the image as well as the Navy colored card stock piece I've used for layering my design. There is also a layer of brushed gold card stock in between the two.  I took some gold ribbon to wrap around two corners before attaching these two layers onto the aqua colored card base.

Here is a closer look at the image:
I have used my Copic markers and a gold gel pen to color in my image.  I added some gold dots around her dress.  I covered her wings with some Wink of Stella clear glitter pen.

The star ornament was colored in with the gold gel pen and then I added a piece of gold thread to make a bow to attach to the top of the star ornament.  I have also used some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink with my ink foam blending tool to go around the edge of the image panel.

I hope that you've enjoyed my creation today and please stop by the challenge blog to see all of the inspiration from the rest of the design team!  We look forward to seeing you creations!
Thanks for stopping by!! See you soon!!

Something to Be Thankful For

Hello friends!
Thanksgiving is tomorrow!  I have been thinking about the pecan pie that I'm making and looking forward to eating I'll have to save my stomach some room!! LOL!!
I hope that whatever your plans are for Thanksgiving, you are surrounded by those you love!  This is what I think makes Thanksgiving special! :)

Wanted to share my creation with you today for my guest design spot over at
(Click on photo to be taken to the challenge blog!)

This challenge couldn't be more perfect given the timing!  For this next challenge, we would like to see your "Thanksgiving or Thanks" creations!

Every year this is something that I enjoy doing with my family which is to say one thing that we are thankful for as we go around the room taking turns to hear from each person.  When my boys were younger, they would always say that they didn't know.  My answer was "There is always SOMETHING to be thankful for."  Then I would explain and give a few examples.  Of course after time they would come up with their own imaginative details! :)

Of course another one of our "family traditions" is to watch the "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" movie with Steve Martin and John Candy in it.  Although this is quite a humorous movie, the ending always really touches me when Steve Martin learns something about the other individual he was so rude to the entire time.  He then realized how "thankful" he really was after all.  :)
It's an older movie, but it's one that I've watched every year for as long as I can remember.

Anyway, this actually does lead me to the creation I made today:
I sometimes wonder if adding a bow is something that is just not a "masculine" thing to do, but I showed my hubby this card and he approved and actually called it "pretty"!!  :)

So for this card, I've pulled out some of my older Stampin' Up! stamps to make it.
The tag with the taffeta bow on it comes from the SAB "You Brighten My Day" stamp set in which I embossed it on Soft Suede card stock with white EP and then punched it out with the coordinating Tag Punch.  I also punched out an additional tag in vellum to layer behind it.

The background was stamped with the SU "Hardwood" background stamp with Whisper White ink on a Smoky Slate card stock piece.  The card base is another piece of Soft Suede card stock.  The leaves and acorn were stamped in various coordinating neutral colors with the SU "WonderFall" stamp set.  I ended up fussy cutting out the images and then sponging some ink around the edges to soften up the lines a bit.

One of the leaves as well as the acorn was popped up with some foam squares and then I added a few gold sequins to finish it off.

Hope you've enjoyed my design today and I hope you will take the time to join in the challenge with us!  We'd love to see your masculine style creations!! :)
Thanks for stopping in and enjoy your Holiday Weekend friends!!

Making My Mark with Watercolor

Good evening friends!
Stopping by to share a creation with you for
Addicted to Stamps & More

For this week's challenge, we are focusing on "Make Your Mark"!
So as the name implies, use anything on your creation that would be considered "marking" like coloring media such as Copic markers, pencils, chalks, paint, watercolor, stenciling, etc.

We also have a wonderful sponsor joining us for this challenge as well:
(Click badge to be taken to the store!)
One lucky winner from this challenge will receive a $10 gift certificate to their store!
Certainly worth playing along for!!

For my card, I have chosen to do some watercolor:
I have taken Christmas to another realm with a non-traditional color palette!
I had some fun stamps from our sponsor this week and used them and have used the Joyful stamp set for my design here.  I have stamped the gift box and ornament image with Archival black ink on some Britol watercolor paper and colored it in with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers.  I also used my gold gel pen to color in parts of the ornament with.  It is fussy cut and popped up over the design with foam squares.

For the white front panel of my card, I played around with my Zig Kuretake Gansi Tambi watercolor and brushed on some watercolor splotches including the pretty gold.  I also used some of the gold to make additional splatters in the background by tapping my brush.

I stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set with the Archival black ink and then added some black sequins to the design where I've also added a dot of gold Stickles in the center of each one.

Before attaching the popped up image, I've added a strip of black card stock which I thought brought out the other black accents on the design and then I also took my corner chomper and rounded off two opposite corners before attaching it to my white A2 sized card base.

Hope you've enjoyed my creation today!
Please be sure to stop by the challenge blog to see the rest of the inspiration and join in the fun with us!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

I'll be back soon!
