Flashback Friday - Addicted to Love

Hello friends and a happy Friday to ya!
Are you ready for the weekend?!  I'm ready to get my "craft on"!  I hope you are too!
Because today starts another...

Before we get to the challenge, please be sure to CLICK HERE to see who last week's "Flashback Favorites" were or you can scroll down to the post below.

So for this week I'm thinking it would be fun to do a theme of "fill in the blank"!  The theme is:
"I'm addicted to ______________!"
with a LOVE theme
What crafty item do you seem to buy or "collect" the most of?  Do you have an addiction to decorative papers, die cuts, flowers, stamps, ribbon, charms, stickers, etc...?! Fill in that blank!!
Now you will need to USE what your addiction/collection is and create with it using a LOVE theme.  Any type of  "love" theme will do here.  Create Valentine's, love you, anniversary, something with hearts, etc. -

So...of course, here is me filling in the blank.....
"I'm addicted to STAMPS!" - yeah, I know, surprise!
It is no secret that I tend to keep buying stamps and more stamps and more stamps!
I took a photo of my addiction:
Oh yes, I have stamps and this is just two shelves in my stamp closet.  There are also two more shelves below this one and I have to say that it is also full of stamps...along with a few other totes, baskets, etc.  So this is WHY I'm usually featuring stamps every Friday! :)

So I've pulled out a couple of stamps from my addicted stash that's been around a while:
The first stamp is what I would call a "heart sprinkle" by Great Impressions (I don't see it in their store any more.) and the DARLING little "Love Bug" stamp is from Whipper Snapper Designs.  (I had a fetish for these stamps for a while and built up a small collection of them! LOL!)

Here is the NEW card that I've created with these stamps:
I colored the bug with Copic markers and then added some glitter to his wings and took some glossy accents to his antennas, heart and nose.  I added a sentiment from a brand new stamp set and combined it with the "Love Bug" sentiment portion from my stamp. (CLICK HERE to see a video on how to line up your stamps & "omit stamping".)

I used the GI "Heart Sprinkle" stamp and embossed it next to the bug with Iridescent Ice EP to give it a bit of sparkle to make it look like it's coming from the bug! :)  He's conveying some heart magic towards his Valentine! LOL!  I pulled out an old border punch for the turquoise border and I even used my older heart sizzix thinlits die to pop out a couple of hearts on the layout.

I think this will be a good Valentine for my favorite "Love Bug"! :)

Here are some challenges I'd like to add this card to:

Retro Rubber - sketch   (Missed it! Darn it!)
(Love this challenge as they use old stamps too! Go check it out!)

Shopping Our Stash (SOS186) - Love Themed (Using my stash! Yay!)

Stampin' Royalty - Love/Valentine's

Simon Says Stamp - anything goes

Aud Sentiments - Valentine/Love Sentiment

TIME OUT - Valentine's Day with optional twist of hearts

On the last Flashback challenge I didn't post any "Flashbacks" for you and I heard about it!
So of course even though I'm not a fan of some of my own past creations, I'll share and laugh about it right along with ya!! :)  Here are my "love themed" flashbacks:
I did find a card that I made circa 2011 using this same bug image! :)
I used to have this 'thing' where I loved adding liquid pearls to the scallops....I also made ALL of  my cards at least 5x5 in size!!

Here's another "love themed" card that I made circa 2009.  This is a digital image that is no longer available as this store has been closed for a while now.

Here's another "love themed" card that I found circa 2007.
I used a couple of fun techniques on this one:  cracked glass and polished stone.
I remember that I had given this card to hubby.  This is a retired SU! stamp set and I computer generated the sentiment.

So now off you go to pull out your own craft addiction and create a "love themed" project with it!
I can't WAIT to see what YOUR addiction is!!
Enjoy your weekend!!!

Flashback Favorites from GOT FLOWERS?! challenge

Hello friends!
Wow!!  I am soo thrilled that all of my crafty friends are playing along and using up that old crafty stash you have lurking around your room! :)  I feel great for using it and I know you probably feel the same as me!  So bonus points for ALL of you for playing along!!

I'd also like to pass along a reminder that you don't have to ONLY use stamps.  You can use ANY STASH for these challenges.  Even if you use a piece of decorative paper that is a year or older, it will work for these challenges!  And you certainly don't have to use Stampin' Up! stamps either, you can use ANY stash that is a year or older.  I just use these more often because it's what I have so much of!  If you do too, that's awesome that you are using it up too! :)

I sure have enjoyed seeing all of your creations and I am getting so inspired as well as encouraged every time I see another creation that someone has linked up to the challenge!  There were some REALLY stunning floral creations this week and I encourage you to go have a look at ALL of the entries!  I will say that you guys are making it hard to feature only 3 of them!

Here are THREE gorgeous "Flashback Favorites" from our last "GOT FLOWERS?!" challenge:

Let's start off with one from Carol:
Here's the information about her stunning creation:

"I stamped and heat embossed the Dawn Bibby flowers stamps (about 5yrs old)which I layered up,leaves were from same set"

And here's another beauty from Lynn:
Here's what she has to say:

"I'm pretty sure this stamp was given to me when I first started stamping and I've never, ever inked it up.  Mainly because it's just really not "me".   But, a challenge is a challenge, so......I got it colored and then had no idea what to do with it!  When that happens I usually just slap it on a piece of patterned paper and call it a day - The sentiment is also an old stamp and I embossed that with some of the Platinum embossing powder.  At least I have another birthday card finished now. "

Yay for you Lynn!  So glad you pulled it out to use!

And last but certainly not least, here's one from Kathy:
Here's what she has to say:

"One of my New Year's resolutions is to use the products I already have and so I was excited to hit my "stash"! "

Yay for you Kathy on getting out those old products again! :)

I would be honored if the crafty friends featured here would take this badge for their blog:

Thanks SO MUCH for each and every one of you for playing along and I sure hope you continue to play along so you can use your old crafty stash too! :)

Would I like to feature MORE than just three creations here?!  YES...I sure would!
So please keep playing along so I can feature YOU here too!!
Be sure to stay tuned in tomorrow as another challenge will be ready for you to join!!
See you then!

Fishing For Love...

Hello friends!  It's the middle of the week already!
I think I am "in the mood for love" this week! :)  I always have fun making up special Valentine's Day cards or treats for my special Valentines.

Today I'm sharing a card I made using a FREEBIE image!
Check it out:
If you know me, then you know I am a "sucker" for penguins! :)
I think my fellow crafty blog friends "know me" as this FREEBIE digital set as well as the challenge linking to it was pointed out to me by someone!  Thanks NC!!  I promised that I would play along in the Deedee's Digital monthly Challenge.  Of course I used this ADORABLE digital set called "Ice Fishing" (For non-EU residents - EU residents available as well) and comes with several images pre-colored, digital papers, sentiments and the outline version of the images!  I didn't realize how many things you get with this digital set!!  You should check it out before the month is over! (It's only available for FREE during the month of January! - check out photo below of what's included in the set!)

And how adorable is this penguin pulling out a heart from his ice fishing hole!?! :)
I printed out the colored version and die cut it out with my LF stitched rectangle die cut.  I also printed out the sentiment and attached it right underneath the penguin panel.  I thought it would be cute to add some silver thread to mimic his fishing string!

I've also printed out the adorable heart background paper that came with the set and I die cut out a banner with it using my My Favorite Things Banner Dies.  The penguin panel is just popped up over the card base and heart banner with foam tape.

And of course here is a different angle of the card so that you can see the details that I've added to the pre-colored digital image.  Glossy accents on his beak and feet as well as the heart. (The heart looks weird in the photo, but it looks more smooth IRL.)  I've added some glitter to the water in the ice fishing hole and a decorative silver sticker in the corner.

Although this may look complicated, it was so easy to put together and fun!
Now to decide which of my Valentines gets this one! :)

Thanks for stopping in today!  I hope you'll come back again on Friday to check out a new Flashback Friday challenge!!  Until then, enjoy your week!!

Here are the challenges I'd like to enter my "Fishing Penguin" card for:

Tuesday Throwdown - Facets

Hello friends!
I'm here to share with you a new challenge over at
Tuesday Throwdown

So the challenge for you THIS week is:
"Facets of Crafting" (Use Gems, Sequins, etc.) on your project

As I saw what this challenge was, I knew immediately what I wanted to do for it, but I was curious about the name "facet", so of course I looked it up and here's what I found:

1. (Jewellery) any of the surfaces of a cut gemstone
2. an aspect or phase, as of a subject or personality
3. (Architecture) architect the raised surface between the flutes of a column
4. (Zoology) any of the lenses that make up the compound eye of an insect or other arthropod
5. (Anatomy) anatomy any small smooth area on a hard surface, as on a bone
vb-ets-eting-eted-ets-etting or -etted
6. (Jewellery) (tr) to cut facets in (a gemstone)
[C17: from French facette a little face]

Collins English Dictionary – Complete and Unabridged © HarperCollins Publishers 1991, 1994, 1998, 2000, 2003

My parents have their 50th wedding anniversary this week and I thought this would be a perfect opportunity to  create a card for them as well as complete my DT!
So here's the card I came up with using this theme:
So the Wedding Bells image that I've used on this card was generously donated by our sponsor for this week's challenge which is A Day For Daisies.  I thought it was the perfect image to use not only for the challenge, but for my parent's special Anniversary card as well.  Be sure to play along with us this week as our sponsor will be providing the winner with a fabulous prize! :)  The shop is full of really amazing digital stamps, you should seriously check it out!

I have colored in the image with my Copic markers and used my Wink of Stella Glitter Pen to go over top of the bells for a bit of shimmer.  Of course it's hard to see in the photo, but it looks so pretty IRL.  I've used some gold Stickles to fill in the centers of the flowers.

This card was a bit tricky to put together and I had a "re-do" of the entire thing!  I hate it when that happens, but it was something I wanted to be just right! :)  I used an old Cuttlebug die cut that I had which cut out several pieces with one pass.  The frame, the ornate cut pieces inside the frame were all pieced together and I used some sticky paper behind it so that I could cover that with fine clear glitter.  I popped that up over my embossed card base and added in the sequins and gold glittered die cut numbers.  I had some gold ribbon and then popped up the image over the bow in the corner.
I think it turned out pretty!  I hope they will like it!

Here's another view of the details:
You can some-what see the sparkle and glitter everywhere.  You can barely see the shimmer on the gold bells, but it's there!  I think the gold sequins added the perfect finishing touch to it.  I also placed some liquid pearls around the image too.

Who doesn't love gems or sequins, right?  I can't wait to see what you'll come up with for this challenge!!  Hope you'll join us!  And if you need more inspiration, then check out what the rest of the design team came up with for it!!  CLICK HERE to check out the Tuesday Throwdown challenge!

Thanks for dropping by today!

Hello Baby!

Hello friends and a happy Monday!
It is snowing pretty good out there today.  I wish all of my friends on the East Coast to stay safe and warm during what is being forecast a heavy snow storm for them this afternoon.

I have been pretty busy "behind the scenes" here working on several different things I have going on at the moment.  I will share with you in soon enough time, but for today I have a very simple, but really fun card to share:
I really LOVE playing with my TAWS stamps and I wanted to be sure to have a chance at playing around with some of the new sets that I bought!
So for my card, I've embossed the Line Upon Line stamp with clear embossing powder on the banner and then took my distress inks to blend the colors together.  The embossed image resists the ink.
I then took this adorable teddy bear image from the Got It Covered stamp set, colored him with my Copic markers and die cut him out with My Favorite Things stitched circle dies. I used some foam tape to pop it up over the banner and base of the card.
I added a sentiment from the TAWS More Than Words stamp set to finish it off for my baby card.

Hope you like my share today and I'll be back again with you tomorrow for a fun new challenge with a very special card that I made.
Thanks for stopping by!

Flashback Friday - GOT FLOWERS?!

Hello friends and a happy Friday to ya!
It's time again for another challenge...Yay!

If you've missed the post for the "Flashback Favorites" from the last challenge - CLICK HERE

So here we are in the middle of January with cold, snow and yuk!
What better time to start thinking about the pretty colors, sights and smells of flowers!!
Oh I can't WAIT to get out there with my flowers this Spring! :)

So of course my challenge for you THIS WEEK is none other than...
Yes, pull out those gorgeous stamps, papers and/or embellishments that are at least one year or older from your stash and create with them using this theme!
I can't wait to see all the pretty floral from your own stash stack!!  You KNOW you have some!

(If you need some review of the rules - CLICK HERE - or visit the "Flashback Friday Challenge" tab at the top of my blog.)
So here's what I have pulled out from MY stash for today....
This was a set called Simple Stems that I had purchased last year from Stampin' Up! that I believe was in last year's Occasion's catalog (as they call it?)  I have NEVER used it until today!
I was looking through my stamps and found it so odd that I didn't have any flowers because I really do love them.  I wanted them to be a bold set so I didn't have to color them in...found this one, loved it, bought it and then here we are!  I have NOT used this set until now!!  WOW, yes...I know you can probably believe that!
(And THIS is the reason behind the challenge my friends!)

Well I'm glad I bought it!  I absolutely LOVE it now!!
For my first card, I wanted to play along with a challenge that I believe is over now, but there's always another challenge to enter...right?! LOL!
I loved not only how simple this flower set was to use, but look at the results of the simple!
It's just stamps and ink!  I have taken a couple of the flower images from that set and stamped it all over the three layers at once and then layered the Gray colored card stock behind each panel.  I got this idea from The Friday Mash-Up! challenge where they even had a video on how to assemble it with measurements and all.  (CLICK HERE for video on it!) It's very simple to do and I thought fun!  I am too late to enter this, but loved the challenge idea!

The greeting I used is from an older Stampendous set that I had.  The flowers looked so "comforting" to me and I thought this would be a great card to cheer someone up!
A Gray colored button with white twine added to the top of my white ribbon bow...that is all.

Here are some challenges I'd like to enter this above card for:
The Paper Players - sentiment focal point

Loves Rubber Stamps - Letter "B" (Button, Bows, Blooms, Blue, Big hug)
Fab 'N' Funky - Button It
Moving Along with the Times - Button It!

So I wasn't finished playing around with this fun flower set just yet....
LOL!!  OK, this is just me having some fun!! :)
I took one of the flower images from the set because I thought it looked like one of those "fuzzies" and if you're as old as me, then you know what I'm talking about!!
The colors here were pretty much just random with me stamping them out in colors that I remember how they looked.  I added some wiggle eyes and I even had some old pom-pom trim that I glued along the outside border of this panel!  (A bonus for me using up another old item! Yay!)
I used this fun dotted embossing folder (from SU!) and die cut an orange banner and added THE PERFECT sentiment to this that I found in one of my The Alley Way stamp sets!
I just finished it off with an enamel orange heart next to it.

Now if these don't warm someone up...I don't know what will!!!

Here are some challenges I'd like to enter the "fuzzie" card for:
Cute Card Thursday - Colorful!
Aud Sentiments - anything goes
Send a Smile 4 Kids - anything goes

So I hope you've enjoyed my CURRENT take on flowers and got a bit of a chuckle!

So go pull out YOUR flower stash and have some fun play time with them!
I look forward to seeing your makes!
Thanks so much for checking things out today and have a fabulously floral weekend! ;)
(Make sure you use the InLinkz below to enter by the deadline!)

Flashback Favorites from ABCs & 123s

Hello friends!
Well I am happy to see that there are a few more players trickling in and joining along with the fun here!  Thank you so much for your support...this is a great "cause" for all of us, right?!!
Hopefully there will be more of you that continue to participate too and we can all get more crafters catching on and joining us in our plight! :)

I have really enjoyed visiting your blogs and seeing all of the wonderful and creative ways that you are all using your stash!! (Especially the different variations of the ABCs & 123s!...loved it and so many more ideas now that I have to go back and get that pile of stash back out that I photographed for the challenge!! LOL!)  Kudos to you on using your old crafty stash!!  This has got to feel good as I know it does me every time I make another post knowing I have pulled out another item that's  STILL not sitting on a shelf!

Friendly reminder:  Please be sure you link back to my challenge or blog in your post and please tell me WHAT old crafty stash you have used in your post as well.  (CLICK HERE for complete list of rules for the challenges.)

Since I've had a few more players this time, I am totally thrilled with that by the now I'll have to TRY and narrow down by way of a TOP THREE "Flashback Favorites" - cool!

So here are THREE picks for the "Flashback Favorites" (In no particular order):

Let's start with Nana Connie's lovely make:
Isn't this precious?!  I loved her personalized design with this using a number!  What a great idea!!
Here's Connie's comment about this stash item:
"The "7" is from an old page of pre-cut pop-outs which came with a stack of scrapbooking paper.  I never use those pop-out things so these have been kicking around as much as 5 or 6 years!"
Way to go on using up your old stash!!

Here's Ka's clever design:
Now how cool is this?!  I just love the fun background she created with the clever play on the lettering here!!  What a FUN and creative way to use your alphabets!!
And she made not one, but TWO designs for this challenge...way to go!  You can click on her name above her card to check out the post!
Here's what she has to say about this challenge idea:
"The concept behind Flashback Friday is to encourage us to use those long forgotten stamps and supplies that got buried behind the new products. I love this idea because I have a few stamps and supplies that I bought years ago just sitting in their original packages that they came in. They made it as far as to their designated storage baskets or bins, but never on a project. So this challenge gave me the opportunity to take them out and put them to use. Yay for that!"
And Yay for YOU Ka on putting these long forgotten items to use finally!  (I concur completely!)

And here's another brilliant creation made by Jessi:
Wow!  What a gorgeous design!  I love her use of different types of paper and texture here!
Here's what she said about the old alphabet from her stash:
"The Thickers have been in my stash long enough that they are falling off the carrier sheet - pretty sure that qualifies them as ancient."
Good for you on getting them out to use on this design!!  It makes for a great love theme!

I'm so thrilled that my fellow crafty friends are pulling out their long lost and forgotten stamps, papers and embellishments!!  I hope you will keep joining along with me to continue this journey in using it up as much as possible!!

I would be honored if each of you would like to place this badge below on your blog for being featured here from the last challenge:

So please be sure to come back here tomorrow and join me for another challenge that will be sure to bring out more of your left and forgotten stash!! :)

Addicted to Stamps & More with a Holiday Theme!

Hello friends!
It's wonderful to get back into a routine for the New Year and I'm so excited for this particular posting today because it's my first post as a design team member for
  Addicted to Stamps! Yay!

So the theme for this challenge is "Addicted to Holiday".
You can create a project for ANY holiday for this challenge and we look forward to seeing what you'll be coming up with for this!  Here's what I've created:
This really adorable bunny comes from our sponsor Deedee's Digis called Sending My Love.  I love all of the different sentiments that come with this sweet bunny image!
*Be sure to play along as the winner of this challenge will receive a $15 gift certificate to their store. Cute images too!*

He was just too much fun to color in!  I used my silver metallic gel pen to color the mailbox and I used my white gel pen to make "dots" on his outfit and I also took a tiny heart stamp and stamped several pink hearts around the bunny.  I also added some sparkle to the snow and a bit of glossy accents to the bunny's nose.  I made this a fun Valentine's Day card to keep with the challenge theme and I wanted to leave this one flat so it would be nice for mailing.

Be sure to "HOP" on over to the ATSM challenge blog and check out the rest of the creations from the design team!  I know you'll be inspired to create too!
Thanks so much for joining along with me today and I look forward to seeing what you come up with for this challenge too! :)

Here are some other challenges I'd like to enter this for:
Aud Sentiments - anything goes
Chocolate, Coffee & Cards - NO circles
Inky Chicks - anything goes
Sweet Stamps - hearts

You Color My World

Hello friends!  Happy Monday!
Hope you all enjoyed your weekend!  I have a quick card to share with you today:
I had gotten this set and was just dying to pull out for a play!  I think it's so cute!
It was a free set from Lawn Fawn during a promotion they had a month ago.
I thought it would look so cute with the smile face stamped with the coordinating color of ink for each crayon.  I used my Copic markers to color in the crayons.

This was a quick and fun design to put together this morning!
Thanks for popping by!!

Here are some challenges I'd like to enter this card for:

Flashback Friday - Easy as ABC's and 1-2-3's

Hello friends!
Welcome to finally Friday and another...

So did you see the last week's "Flashback Favorites" post and review?!
If you didn't, CLICK HERE to check it out or scroll down to the next post.
I hope that you are enjoying these posts and if you feel the need to join along, I'd love to see what you come up with for it by linking your creation below this post with the InLinkz!

Let's get started with THIS WEEK'S CHALLENGE:
I'm challenging you to dig through your old stash and come up with an UP-DATED project using your stash of:
A-B-C's and 1-2-3's
Remember you don't have to use "JUST STAMPS" from your stash, as you can see, I've pulled out some OLD items from my stash and found numbered papers, alphabet epoxy stickers, number embossing folder, alphabet sticker sheet, chipboard letters, alphabet brads, alphabet die cuts and of course stamps too! :)  I'm sure you have something like these items lurking around in your stash!

I've seen cute creations people have made over the years by taking alphabets or numbers from their stash and making a personalized card or project.  Of course they are perfect for scrapbooking, but I think that making a set of monogrammed cards or stationery as a gift is something special or for a wedding design.  How about those special milestone birthdays or anniversaries with the number on it? So many possibilities to have fun with, right?!

So here are my "up-dated" versions using the old alphabet stamps that you see in the photo above:
Something that I love to do is take some of my older stash and mix it up with something new.  This way it doesn't make it feel "out-dated" and you are using both your old and new stash! :)

I've taken the retired Stampin' Up! sets called "Alphahearts Letters & Numbers" (circa 2004 - really bad because I've only cut and mounted these particular stamps out!  The others have NOT been used at all!  WOW!) and used them for spelling out a special message and even turning them into "balloons" for this cute fellow to float away into the sky with! LOL!  I also took the heart image from the "Alphaheart Numbers" set and stamped it repeatedly on the Kraft card base for some interest in the background of my design.  All the other images I've used are newer (some never used) from Mama Elephant.  I took my Copic liner to make the balloon strings.
P.S.  I think using alphabets are perfect for Valentine's Day! :)

Here's another card I up-dated using another alphabet set photographed in the "stash" above:
Another more simple card I made using ONLY the alphabet stamps.  I've used a retired Stampin' Up! set again called "Short Order Alphabet".  Since these stamps were red rubber mounted on wooden blocks, I needed to use my Stamp-a-ma-jig to line up the "hello".
If you want to learn more about "lining up" with this tool or how to "omit stamp", check out my video by CLICKING HERE.
I just randomly stamped other letters in a different colored ink for the background.  The black strip and rounded corners for interest was to finish it off.

Of course looking at my photo showing the old stash of alphabets and numbers...I could have gone on and on, but there's only so many hours in a day, right?!  Another time perhaps! :)
And of course it wouldn't be a "Flashback Friday" without re-visiting some of my older creations:
I made this "double pocket slider" card (circa 2007?) with some alphabet stamps of all kinds of different styles and fonts.  I think the technique now is called "word graffiti"?  Who knew?! LOL!

This 'cute' little pop-up slider card was made during a Chicago Bears football game years back and I had made it for my hubby who is a fan.  I used an alphabet set to spell out "Da Bears" on the inside of the slider part.  LOL!  Oh the memories!!

Obviously, this card was made in 2012 for my son's graduation.  WOW!!  Has it been almost THREE years already since he graduated!!??? aggh!  Old stash, old memories...just OLD! LOL!
Anyway, I have taken my number die cuts to cut out the year with gold card stock and made a card to resemble a graduation cap using my son's school colors.

I hope you've really been inspired here and if you want to dig through your old stash to see if you can come up with something using your alphabet and/or number stash, please join me!
I'd love to see what you come up with and what's lurking around in your room!!...stash that is! LOL!
Thanks for popping in today my friends!  Enjoy your weekend!

Flashback Favorites & Review

Hello friends!
Just wanted to say thank you to those that have played along with me for
Flashback Friday this past week as well as those kind comments and encouragement about it! :) - not many entered with the InLinkz, but perhaps as we go along it may pick up a bit so we'll see...

I know that there seems to be a ton of interest in this challenge and from the feedback I've been getting, I know people are "saying" that they plan on playing, or want to play, or going to play or going to look for something to play... and of course there are some "silent" players enjoying the challenge as well.  (meaning they're not entering with InLinkz, but playing along at home.)  So perhaps we are on a path here?!  The only way to really let me know if you're interested in this is by entering!  I was basically posting these as something that I needed to do for myself, but if you are all interested in doing the same...then please join me by linking in!

I think perhaps a little bit of clarification is in order because I've had some people mentioning that they "would play....but...they don't have any stamps that would work."

Just because I happened to use a "snowflake stamp" does NOT mean that you can only play if you have a snowflake stamp!....  Do you have snowflake papers that you haven't used in over a year?  Do you have snowflake embellishments that you haven't used in over a year?  Do you have a digital snowflake stamp you haven't used in over a year?.....THIS COUNTS!!  My whole point with this was to get me to use not only my old stamps, but my papers, embellishments and even those old tools that have been shoved back in the rejects of a dark corner somewhere! LOL!!  When I moved into my new house, it was like I rediscovered all of my old crafty stash again and wanted to "renew" the love that I once had for them!  So ANY STASH OR STAMPS ARE WELCOME!!!
Just let me know in your post what it is that you've used!  Do you need to be "exact" on the year?  Heavens no!!  I can't remember everything I bought a year ago!! LOL!

PLEASE NOTE that the #2 rule says:
2.  Using your stamps and/or crafty stash (digital stamps, papers & embellishments included!) should be AT LEAST 1 year or older...the most neglected item in your stash is best! *wink*

So hopefully this will help clear some things up for people a bit and you'll be able to find some time to "dig through" your old crafty stash AND/OR stamps to join in too!

So now I'd like to review with you what a few crafty friends entered:
This gorgeous card was created by Julie.
It was so funny to read her story about a stamp she purchased "back in the day" and has never pulled it out to use until now!!  (She took a photo of  the stamp with the year on it in her post! LOL!)  She did a stunning job updating her old stamp with the beautiful blue background she created with the embossed snowflakes!  She even included a "Flashback" of her own projects with snowmen!  Way to go Julie!!  Thanks for playing! :)

And here's another card from the challenge:
This adorable tall card design was created by Amy.
Amy says: I put myself on a stamp buying freeze long ago because I have more stamps than I could ever use in a lifetime and most of them have never saw ink.
I hear you on that one Amy!! LOL!!  And if the DCWV papers are older than 1 year, those count too!! So kudos for using up both items!!  She says her stamp is from a retired Stampin' Up! set.
So glad that you are getting a start real early on this year's Christmas cards too!
Can we all take a lesson here?! LOL!!  Thanks for playing!!

So for Julie and Amy, I would be honored if you'd like to take the badge below and display it on your blog to get the word out to others and encourage the use of old crafty stamps and stash! :)
Please be sure to link back here so they know where to go!
Thanks again for playing along and I hope you'll continue to keep using your old stash and stamps and help encourage your fellow crafty friends to do the same! :)

So if you'd like to join me for the NEXT "Flashback Friday" challenge, then be sure to stop back by here tomorrow (Friday) for another new challenge that will get you to go through your STASH!! :)

Birthday Star with NBUS!

Hello friends!
Middle of the week is here and I would rather stay in the warm studio and stamp some more, but the chores of running errands must go on! Boo!
I wanted to share a card I made today and I've made this one masculine style as I'm always needing masculine birthday cards, so this will work for someone I need a card for! :)
OK, so when I saw a couple of challenges, my thoughts just seemed to go with a masculine style theme and I decided to go ahead and run with that idea.

I have used some new papers (well new to me because I was given a few sheets for FREE when I placed my last order with Lawn Fawn....gosh, I do love this company...they are awesome to order from and make such awesome products! :)
And another company that I have been a fan of for years is Whimsy Stamps!  They too are awesome to order from and I usually get a little something extra with my orders! Yay!
So I won a gift certificate from a challenge I entered and used it to buy some fun new sets and dies with it!  I have used part of it on my card here!  I used this cool set called Distressed Backgrounds and Ink Splats.  I used some white ink to stamp on the turquoise panel.  (It sort of looks like I spilled some bleach over it! LOL!)  And of course I've used this set before, but the sentiment came from the Sweet as Candy-Sweet Sentiments stamp set.  I've also used the Stitched Border Die Trio to make some stitch marks along the strip of black going across the middle.

The stars were punched out and I've inlayed the small turquoise star inside the larger black star and popped it up with foam tape.  The corner were punched with an old ticket corner punch I had.  To finish it off, I just added some black enamel dots.

Hope you've enjoyed my card today and I thank you for stopping in!
