Pet Sympathy

Hello friends!
Hope you are starting to enjoy this warmer weather and are seeing some flowers come out as well!  We are supposed to have a rainy week this week, so I'm hoping this means I can get some things done as I have a feeling this month is going FLY by!! LOL!

I have made a special pet sympathy card for a fellow blog friend and DT team mate (Asha - click her name to see her post about it.), who has lost her beloved pet.  I didn't have any dog images that resembled her beloved Rosie, so I thought I'd use a doxie image to convey sympathy from my fur baby, Mocca!  :)  Asha, I'm so sorry this is late and you're seeing this before you get your card, but it's on the way...so that you know Mocca and I have been thinking of you!  HUGS

If you remembered my last post, I had gotten a hold of the newest released stamp sets from Newton's Nook...and of course I HAD to get the doxie set! :)  This one is called Delightful Doxies...and it is THE CUTEST doxie set I have ever seen!!  They did such a brilliant job with this one!

And do you remember the baker's twine from the photo that the stamp sets were wrapped up in?  I also used that as part of my design as well.  I found some papers to match up with it and I think this card came together quickly after that.  I colored the sitted doxie with Copic markers and stamped a few hearts around her from an image in the set and colored those to match the card.  I've used my gold glitter pen to color in the metal on the dog's collar and added some dots with it around the hearts.  The sentiment is from an old SU! stamp.  The image panel was die cut with a stitched square die and matted on the orange colored card stock. The old papers are from my stash.  I just used my scissors and made banners with the strips and then glued on my twine and bow at the top.  The image panel was popped up on the card base with some foam tape.  My idea for this card came mainly from the color of the twine and the sketch I was trying to follow along with.  (see below)

Here's a closer view of the image details:
After getting my image popped up on the card base, I took my Wink of Stella Glitter Pen and went over the hearts with it and then I also added some glossy accents over that as well.

Here's a recent photo I have taken of Mocca enjoying the warm weather as she works on her tan out in the yard! LOL!!
She is going to be ten years old in the next couple of months and has a few battles of her own to deal with.  She is plagued with arthritis and commonly has her back "go out" due to being a long dog with very short legs...it's hard for this breed to live in a "tall" world! LOL!  So we take her regularly to see a specialist that helps her with that.  She also has pancreatitis which can make her very ill unless she continues on a special diet and probiotic that she takes every day to help control that.  Other than this, she is very happy, healthy and active for her age and so much fun to be around.
She has been such a wonderful blessing to our family and we are so lucky to have her in our lives!
Remember to love and care for your pets and make them as comfortable as possible while they are here...their time with us is way too short my friends.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
I will be back again tomorrow with a fun challenge to share with you!

Aww, what a nice card. So sad to lose a long time family pet, and unbelievably hard. Your card will be such a nice reminder of your thoughts for her and her family.

Your pup is adoralbe. Ours was laying on the sidewalk in the yard this morning, she is long haired, so always looking for a cool place to lay.

Hugs

Absolutely LOVE this card, my friend! Thank you soooo much for your thoughtfulness. It's coming up to 2 weeks since Rosie left but it still hurts. Sending tons of cuddles to Mocca. She looks just adorable on the grass enjoying the sun. These little furballs take up a LOT of space in our hearts. So hold on tight, she's irreplaceable, a blessing, a constant source of unconditional love.
Much love and hugs, Asha
