It's All About the Holidays at Addicted to Stamps!

Hello friends!
Hope you are all having a wonderful week so far!
Although it's been a bit busy around my house "behind" the scenes, I'm still thinking of crafting and getting my handmade creating going for the up-coming Holidays!

That's exactly what we are looking for over at
ADDICTED TO STAMPS
This week we would like to see your Holiday themed creations!
Weather it be for Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas or even a vacation Holiday, be sure to enter it with our challenge this week!  We can't wait to see what you all come up with! :)

We have a couple of fabulous sponsors this week as well:
(Click on photo to be taken to their shop)
One lucky winner will receive 5 digital images!

AND

(Click on photo to be taken to their shop)
Another lucky winner will receive a $15.00 coupon to spend at their store!

Be sure you play along for your chance to win a prize or a chance at being chosen for a spot in our "Top Addicts" designs!

Both of these sponsors were kind enough to provide the DT with some images to work with and here's what I've come up with using one of the sponsor's images:
I've used this peaceful and beautiful image from DeeDee's Digis called Winter Woods on my card.  I printed it out, colored it with my Copic markers and then I cut it out in a square that fits around the image only.
I have also added some glitter to the snow on the image and then I layered it onto a piece of glitter card stock and then layered that onto a piece of gold foil card stock that was die cut with a stitched square frame die cut.  Of course it really looks sparkly and shimmery IRL, but the photo does not capture how I see in person!
I layered the image onto a piece of 5" square white card base with a little extra spot towards the bottom of the card so that I could stamp the sentiment.  Although the set does come with several nice sentiments, I wanted a sentiment that went straight across and was thin enough to fit on my design, so I chose to use a set from Whimsy Stamps called Scandi Christmas.

I think this such a great image for making several CAS style Christmas cards!  Yay for getting yet another Christmas card onto my pile!! :)  So be sure to get those Holiday creations and enter in the Addicted to Stamps challenge!! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by this evening!!
I enjoy reading all of your thoughts!!  See you soon!

Seeing STARS at {Cupcake Inspirations}

Hello friends!
Hope you're all having a wonderful weekend!
I am enjoying some much needed time with family right now.

Stopping in today to share a new challenge with you over at
{Cupcake Inspirations}
Here's the awesome photo for the theme challenge this week:
There's just something about "stars" that I love on a design!  You don't have to use the same colors in the photo, just use some stars on your design this week!  Can't wait to see what you come up with!

We also have a great sponsor for the challenge this week as well:
(Click on the graphic above to be taken to the shop!)
They are providing the winner of this challenge with a prize of 3 images of choice!!
So be sure to play along for your chance to win!  They are really adorable images and they were kind enough to provide some images for our design team to play with too!

Here's what I've come up with:
So I've used this too cute to spook image from our sponsor called "Ghost with Pumpkin" for my card design.  I decided to go ahead and use the challenge photo for my base of inspiration as well.  I knew I had some fun black and white striped papers, so I went through my stash to find them and also ran into this fun Halloween style of ribbon that I thought would go perfectly with my design too.

I colored the image with my Copic markers and stamped some stars around him and then just cut him out with a stitched circle die.  I had a star punch, so I punched out some stars with my black glitter paper and popped them up over top of the circle and black A2 sized card base.  I've also included one of those punched stars in the center of my ribbon bow.

Always hard to photograph, but I've covered the ghost with some Wink of Stella for a shimmery looking ghost.  It seems to always look so cool in person of course!

Be sure to stop on over at the challenge blog to catch the rest of the "star-filled" inspiration by the design team!  We can't wait to see your starry creations! :)
Thanks so much for dropping in today!!  See you soon!

It's Time to Get "Spooky" at Craft Rocket Challenges!

Hello friends! :)
I'm back to share with you a brand new challenge over at

This will be our #2 challenge!  It was awesome to see all of the lovely PINK creations from everyone for our 1st challenge, so let's see some more for this one too! :)

The theme for this challenge is:
"Spooky!"
So share those wonderfully "spooky" Halloween creations with us!
Can't wait to see what you all come up with!

Here's the card that I've made for this challenge:
I have decided to pull out some of my "older" Stampin' Up! stamps again and have a play with to create a "spooky" Halloween night with them!
This stamp set is called "House of Haunts" with some cool images that helped to create this scene.
I've put the house with the moon image somewhat in the center right side area of a white card base.  I additionally stamped the house image again (including the moon) on masking paper and masked off the bottom section of the card including the area with the tree image on it.

The images on the white card base were heat embossed with black embossing powder and then covered up with the masking paper in the areas at the bottom and covering the house.  I then took some distress inks to blend in colors around the moon and outward with the darker purplish color.  Once I took the mask off, I blended the area at the bottom with grays and black colors to make it look like the ground with the house on the hill.  The moon including the windows around the house were left alone with the white showing through to help give it that "spooky" looking glow!

In addition, I thought it would be fun to spritz the background with water and then I've also taken a white gel pen to create "stars" in the purplish looking background.  I also used it to make highlights on the tree image and color in the owl's eyes.  I also covered the moon and windows with my Wink of Stella glitter pen.  (Hard to see in photo.)

I finished it off with a couple of corner dazzles black stickers in the top two corners of the card.  I layered the card front with orange and black card stock bases as well.

I hope you will stop by the Craft Rocket challenge blog to see what the rest of the DT has come up with for this challenge as well!
Thanks so much for stopping by today!!  See you again on Sunday!

Multi-Colored Masked Background with Requested Video!!

Hello friends!
Hope you are all having a great week so far!

As I've been started to create more videos, I have had some viewers request seeing some things in particular. So here's the first video that has been requested with more coming! :)
I would rather put together videos that would be something you would all enjoy or are interested in learning from me, so please share your thoughts and/or requests with me.  Love hearing from you guys! :)  Hopefully as I continue to do videos, they will also improve! (It's much harder than you think it is to leave out the word "um"!!)

Today I am also featuring a darling image from the Whimsy Stamps October New Release as well!  And in case you've missed the blog hop, be sure to CLICK HERE to see all of the new products!

Here are both of the cards that I made with this technique I call "Mulit-Colored Masked Background":
I have done two different versions of this so that you can see the different kinds of looks you can achieve just by changing up the colors.  I used some blues, greens and purples in the first card and then used several different colors on the second card.

So the card that is featured in the video and that you'll see me create is the colored one:
I have used the ADORABLE penguin image from Whimsy Stamps called "Santa Stop Here" by Krista Heij-Barber from the Drawn with Character collection for Whimsy Stamps.  This was one of the newly released images this month.  (I have a useful tip about this rubber stamp as well shown in the video below, so be sure to catch that!)

This image was stamped onto a piece of white card stock and then masked so that I could create that background behind the image with out messing up the image.  I have colored it in with my Copic markers as well as adding a few other details that you will also see in the video below.

To check out how to create this fun background I made for this card above, see my video below:
CLICK HERE to see on You Tube - Hope you enjoy!

Here's the card I had previously made that was requested a video for:
This one is a bit different than the ones above, but you can see how easy it is to change it up by making the spacing larger or changing the colors.  And of course if you change the dies you use to create your mask with, then you will also change the look of it.

In addition, if you use lighter or heavier pressure when you are adding the color, this will make a difference as well.  This one is VERY light with everything I did with it including the colors I've used.  I stamped directly over top of my background because it's a more solid image.  Just by changing a few things to tweak this technique, you can create whatever look you're going for.

Here's the other penguin card I made:
I have done exactly the same method with the "Santa Stop Here" image and masked it off to do the "Multi-Colored Masked Background" with just changing up the colors by using more of the blue and green inks.  This gives it more of a wintry type feel I think.  I also decided to change it up a bit by spritzing over top of the background with some water.  It's very faint, but I think you can see some of the water droplets in the background.

In addition to this, I just added my snowfall with a white gel pen and then added some faux snow to the bottom of the card for the snow covered ground.

Hope you've enjoyed my cards using the new release from Whimsy Stamps as well as the video!
Thanks so much for popping in today!!

{Cupcake Inspirations} Has a "Brainy" Color Combo!

If you're looking for the Whimsy Stamps blog hop posts, scroll down or CLICK HERE!
------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello friends!
Hope you are enjoying your weekend so far!
I'm watching all of the trees turn color and it's gorgeous!

Today brings us to another challenge over at
{Cupcake Inspirations}
This week is a fun Color Combination for you:
How cool is that photo of the "brain" cupcakes!!  I love the little name tags for them too!! LOL!
So the colors for this challenge are a combination of "Ocean, Bone & Shadow".

The sponsor for this challenge is
The Stamping Boutique
The winner from this challenge will receive 2 images of winners choice!
(3 images if winner uses a TSB or Glitterbabe image!)
So be sure to play along for your chance to win a fun prize! :)

They have given the team a selection of images to play with for this challenge, so here's what I've come up with using this fun color combo:
I have used this cute image from our sponsor called "Witches Laundry Line".
I've colored it in keeping the color combo in mind.  I have cut out the witch's laundry pieces and then popped them up over the clothes line image to give a bit of dimension.

I added extra "sparkle" to the dress, hat and spider webs on the image with my clear gel pen and Wink of Stella Clear Glitter Pen as well.  I've also added some glossy accents to the pumpkin within the sentiment on the image.  Thought it would be fun to add some seam binding ribbon with a black button and linen thread for accents on the card.

So this witch is getting her laundry done so she can wear it for the up-coming Halloween night! :)
Speaking of "witch"....I need to get mine done too!! LOL!!

Hope you can join in the fun with us this week and play along with the colors!
You don't have to make it Halloween, you can use the color combo for anything you want to make!  Be sure to catch the rest of the inspiration on the challenge blog too!!  We can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks so much for stopping in with me today!!

Hello friends and a happy Friday to you!! Yay!
It's certainly getting cooler out and feeling more like Fall weather over my way!
So hoping to snuggle up with my little doxie, Mocca this evening and watch a movie! :)
Hope you have some fun plans ahead for this weekend as well...maybe some crafting?
**Today is the LAST day for the Whimsy Stamps blog hop!**
Check out the beginning of the hop over on the
Whimsy Inspirations Blog
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Welcome to Day 3, the final day, of our ...
October Rubber Stamp and Die Release

Over the last 2 days we have showcased 18*BRAND NEW* red rubber stamps/stamp sets, 3 new Clearly Whimsy clear sets, and 2 Shapeology Die Sets. All of these new products are available to buy from the Whimsy Stamps store and from selected Whimsy Stamps retailers.

Today, we have more inspiration to share and we hope you will hop along with us for the last chance to win a Whimsy Gift Voucher during our October release.
--------------------------------------
And today I wanted to share with you even MORE fun I've been having with the
So check it out....
I think this "Reindeer Magic" image by Krista Heij-Barber is so fun to color!
(*Don't forget that if you don't want the kit, you can purchase just the rubber stamp if you want!*)
For this Christmas card, I've decided to make a fun easel style design.  If I make Christmas cards early enough, I don't feel overwhelmed and fall to basic simple design...so it's always fun to mix it up a bit.  This way I feel like I can give out different an unique Christmas cards...especially if I have a certain person in mind when making them...makes it so much more fun to create this way! :)

So I have used ALL items including the paper, ribbon and sequins along with the image of course from the kit!  I love how I don't have to think about what I have to "go with" my design when it's all right there in front of me and it matches up with the papers in front of me!  Makes it more enjoyable to create with I think!

And when the card is closed up flat without the fold, here's what the front looks like:
I really fell in love with those plaid design papers from this kit!  I think it makes this happy little guy stand out so nice!  I thought it would be fun to add some glossy accents to his nose and I've got his bells colored with a gold gel pen.  I even took some chucky glitter to make it look as if he's getting ready to land on the snow covered roof! :)
And now I'm doing a happy dance because I got yet another Christmas project done ahead of time thanks to being able to create with this fun kit!!

So....did you miss the very first day of this blog hop?!!
Don't miss the fun inspiration along with the tutorial videos that I showed on Wednesday!
CLICK HERE to be taken to that post or scroll down.

Here are a few extra "close-up" views of the other cards I made from the kit that I showed a glimpse of in my post from Wednesday:
I have been asked how I put this one together:
EVERYTHING with the exception of the coloring & black card stock was from the card kit!!
So I took the Christmas lights border die from the kit and cut it out with black card stock and then cut it out again with the white card stock from the kit.  Then I cut the bottom portion of the light bulbs off from the black piece.  I took the white border piece and colored each bulb in whatever color I wanted with markers.  I attached the black cut border piece over top of the colored bulbs so that they look like colored lights.  After attaching them to the card base, I took some chalk and rubbed the matching colors over top of them to make them look like they're glowing!  And of course the sentiment is also from the kit as well!  I just attached some rhinestones to the center of the snowflakes.
----------------------------------------------

And here's another card I made with the Crissy Armstrong "Christmas Giraffe" stamp that you can choose with your kit.  So CUTE!!!  I had fun coloring this guy in as well!
The stamp comes with a few lines at the bottom of the stamp already.  I chose to take my Copic liner pen and extend the "snow lines" to cover the bottom of my card so it looks like a snowy landing for him to stand on.  I have used all card stock included in the kit for this as well as the sentiment strip at the top of the card.

And here is a closer look at the details from this image:
I have used some blue chalk again to go around the outside of the image.  I then took my Stickles glue to add "dots" for the snow fall.  I even covered the Christmas light on the giraffe with some glossy accents and his hat trimming with heated liquid applique.  The star as well as the snow covered ground were covered with my Wink of Stella glitter pen for a nice shimmer.

Hope that you have enjoyed my creations during the blog hop made with the

****************************************************************************************************************************************************************

Today also starts a brand new
Whimsy Stamps October 2015 Monthly Card kit!
The contents are the same within the kit, you only have to choose which rubber stamp you want with your kit!  (Hard choice...I know!) - you could always get both!! LOL!
**A note to add is that there are two BONUS items included with the kits, so be sure to check out what those are when you watch the video below!**

This is the kit with the "Christmas Giraffe" by Crissy Armstrong stamp included:
- OR -

You can choose this kit with the "Reindeer Magic" by Krista Heij-Barber stamp included:

I am totally excited to be sharing LOTS of fun projects made with these kits!
This is a great kit to have on hand for all of your Holiday card making, tags and gift giving ideas!  So I ended up getting a bit "carried away" as usual and have made several projects using items from the kit!  So here is some inspiration for you:

To introduce you to the kit as well as my first project, here is what I put together:
I've taken this adorable "Christmas Giraffe" by Crissy Armstrong and colored him in with my Clean Color Real Brush markers, cut him out and popped him up over my shaker ornament!

I've used some coaster chipboard from my stash that I've had for who knows how long and made an ornament.  I have made ornaments with this coaster chipboard before, but not with this "shaker" twist involved! :)  This is actually REALLY simple and easy to put together!!  Most of this was put together using items from this kit!

So, if you'd like to see how I've put this ornament together including a full detailed view of the contents included within the kits, then check it all out in this video below:
**To watch on You Tube - CLICK HERE!  To enlarge the video to fill your screen, click the bottom right corner gadget after it starts playing.  ENJOY!!!**

And that's just a start to what you can do with this kit!  I have also made several other items using this kit that might help give you an idea of how much you can actually make with one kit!
In addition to the "Shaker Christmas Ornament" that I made above, I used that adorable giraffe again to make a really fun Christmas card!  I've made an additional simple Christmas card with the "Christmas Lights Border die" that comes with the kit as well!

And for the sentiments on ALL of these projects, I've used the "Pre-printed Sheet of Coordinating Sentiments" that comes with the kit.  I have used dies, circle punches and just cutting various sentiments to put on my projects here.  So many different things you can do with them!
I will share a more detailed view of these items above on Friday - so be sure to come back to my blog for more inspiration!
---------------------------------------------------------

In addition, I have a BONUS project and "how to" video to share with you on how I've made this item which would be great for a fun Christmas gift idea:
I have used the "Reindeer Magic" by Krista Heij-Barber stamp from one of the kits including a bonus item (not pictured with the kit contents above.) and made this really fun gift idea!

I have stamped and decoupaged a muslin bag here.  I've used another circle sentiment from the pre-printed sentiment sheet included in the kit and tied it to the bag with the red grosgrain ribbon included in the kit as well.  This is large enough that it would fit a good sized wooden stamp, yummy goodies or even a nice small gift inside!  (I think handmade is ALWAYS best, don't you?!)

Would like to learn how I've transferred this image onto the muslin bag?
Then please be sure to check out the video below to find out how:
**To watch on You Tube - CLICK HERE!  To enlarge the video to fill your screen, click the bottom right corner gadget after it starts playing.  ENJOY!!!**

I hope you've been inspired with my projects made from the October 2015 card kit!
I have been having so much fun making Christmas items with it!  I'm happy that I was able to make some more Christmas cards and other items to help give me a good start with Christmas this year!
I know that you will enjoy the products in the kit and have lots of fun with it!

I still have MANY things left from the kit to make more, but I just plain ran out of time!! LOL!!

Anything Goes at Addicted to Stamps!

Hello friends!
I hope that you have enjoyed your weekend!  I had a wonderful time visiting with my kids and spending a day out with hubby...we really needed that! :)
Only now I feel like I'm trying desperately to "catch up" on crafting and blogging lately so please forgive my random periods of silence here and there!  Fall is always such a busy time, but I love it! :)

This evening starts another fun challenge over at
ADDICTED TO STAMPS

This is the ever popular theme of "ANYTHING GOES!"
So whatever crafty project you are working on, please be sure to share it with us, we' love to see what you have created!

We also have a wonderful sponsor for this challenge too:
(Click on badge to be taken to the store!)
They are giving away a prize of 4 digital images from their store!

So be sure to play along for your chance to win! :)
--------------------------------------
I have pulled out some of my fave products for this one and played around with some "extra" items I had hanging out in my craft room:
If you don't recognize it, but of course I've used some Lawn Fawn products again! :)
I had bought the super adorable Snow Day stamp set and the coordinating dies with it last year and never cracked it open until now!  If you take a look at the larger blue birdie perched above the tag sentiment, I have stamped, colored with my Copic markers and cut him out and popped him up on the tag.  He also has some shimmer with my Wink of Stella glitter pen and a cute little cheek with a tiny dot from my white gel pen.  I have also stamped the bow in red ink and cut it out and glued it right below the tag sentiment.

For the tag and decorative papers, I have used the papers from the Snow Day paper pack (not sold together any more.) that matches with this stamp set.  I have cut out the tag with my scissors and mounted it with some fun foam to pop it up over my card base. The reinforcer was made with the Tag, You're It die set.  I used the Stitched rectangle dies to cut out the piece of the trees decorative paper and cut off the birds strip on another piece.  I finished the tag off with some Green Sparkle Cord and then added a couple of snowflake sequins.

The cute papers made this a really easy and simple card to put together and it's another card that I will have ready to add to my Christmas card pile...so you can't beat that! :)

Hope you will be able to join us for the challenge this week!
Thanks so much for dropping by and sharing your kind thoughts with me!  I truly appreciate it!

****P.S.  The Winner of my Birthday Blog Candy was "Ashley"!!  She has already been contacted and the prize has been sent out!****

Hello crafty friends!
So excited to be sharing with you our first ever challenge over at the
CRAFT ROCKET CHALLENGES

I'm excited to be apart of this brand new challenge on it's start up launch!
I look forward to sharing the fun challenges with you along with getting to know the rest of the ladies on the team...they look like a talented bunch, so be sure to check them out!

The first challenge is a perfect one to start out with and for such a great cause too!
For the first challenge, we would like to see your
Pink creations for Breast Cancer Awareness
October is Breast Cancer Awareness month and there are many organizations involved in this.
I would love to happily send along my creation to a charity.

Here's what I've created:
One of my favorite sets is an older one from Stampin' Up! called "Strength and Hope" which was also used for a great cause during the time I purchased it because so much of the percentage of the proceeds went for Breast Cancer research.  Not sure if they're doing one this year or not, but has been a favorite of mine for quite a while.

I have combined the pink colors with some Very Vanilla and some Crumb Cake for the base of my design.  The pink color I've used also comes from Stampin' Up! called Pretty in Pink which is a very old retired color as well! LOL!  I've added some Very Vanilla seam binding ribbon as well as a pink button and linen thread for the center of my bow.  The butterfly was stamped twice.  The second one I've fussy cut out and popped up the wings over it.  I've added a string of pearls to the center of the butterfly as well as on each end of my punched label sentiment below it.

The wording in the background comes from a stamp within the same set.  I have used it in the background of the Crumb Cake base as well as the background on the Vanilla base and then I took a portion of it to punch out with the Word Window Punch and use those three words as the focal of my design.  I've also used some more pearls at the top corner of the card and then I've used a scallop border punch and a label die cut to add some interest to the design on each side.

I hope I've inspired you to join along in the fun with us!
If you haven't checked it out yet, please be sure to hop on over to check out the challenge and to see the rest of the inspiration from the talented team!

Thanks for stopping by!! ;)

Whimsy Stamps Wednesday - Polished Stone + video!

Hello friends!!
Hope you are having a wonderful week so far!
I have a fun technique to share with you today for more ideas to use with your
  Whimsy Stamps!
If you have been in the crafting world for a few years, then you  are probably aware of the
"Polished Stone" technique.
(If not, then you really do want to check out the video below to see what a cool look you can achieve with it!)

Over the years, since I first learned of this technique, there are some products that have come out since then which makes getting this look much easier.  So in the video below, I will share with you THREE different ways you can achieve the look of "Polished Stone".  The first method is probably the most economical and oldest version.

Here are some finished projects that I've done using these techniques:
I have used a variety of the techniques from the video and have created SEVERAL pieces actually that really only took a matter of minutes to get the really amazing results you see!
So if you want to see how I've achieved these unique looks, check out the video below!
You can choose the colors, and even the patterns you'd like for each design you make as well!
If you want to make up some really fast Christmas cards, this is an excellent way to do that!

So check out the video below and I will share a closer look at each one of my projects after that:

So as you saw in the video, there are actually a few different versions that you could try out with some products that you have on hand at home!  Also depending on your preferences or style, you can choose the different methods to see what you like.  I will say that the video as well as the photos really do not show how really pretty this looks!  The glossy card stock really makes it shine along with the metallic ink for a brilliant stone look.  I hope that you are inspired to try a background out for yourself to see what you can come up with!
And in the video, you saw that I've made DIFFERENT background than the ones I've created on the finished cards...so now I have several more finished backgrounds to complete more cards!  Yay for getting one step closer to getting Christmas cards made! :)

So here are some closer looks at the creations that I've made with some other "Polished Stone" backgrounds that I've made in addition to the ones shown in the video:

Card 1 - FIRST METHOD:  Rubbing Alcohol
The first card here is finished with the 1st method of "Polished Stone".  For this one, I've used more silver with just some touches of a blue turquoise and gray colors in my design...thought it helped with the wintry feel of the design.

For the image, I've used this adorable image from Crissy Armstrong called "I'd Follow You Anywhere" and then embossed a sentiment from the Clearly Whimsy Stamp set called "Scandi Christmas".  Yes, you CAN heat emboss over the DRY alcohol, it won't "blow up" on you or anything! LOL!!  Just make sure you have plenty of ventilation when you seal the background and make sure it is completely dry before you do any other altering to it.

I've colored this sweet image with some Copic markers and cut it out to pop it up over top of the sparkly snow hill that I've cut out with the Whimsy Shapeology die set - Stitched Border Trio Die.  I've also die cut out the Polished Stone background panel to pop up over an A2 sized card base.  I attached a few snowflake sequins and placed some rhinestones in the center for more sparkle.

Card 2 - SECOND METHOD - Copic Refills
So here's just another fun way to use those backgrounds besides 'just' for backgrounds!
On this card, I've taken the Whimsy Shapeology Balloon Die Set to cut out some balloons from my finished "Polished Stone" background!

For the background on this, I've used the "drop" method to make some "splatters" in addition to some Tim Holtz gold alcohol additive ink with the "drop method" and then I picked up the panel and let it "run" all over the card background to make the pattern you see in the balloons.  I tied some gold cord to them and popped up the ones in the front and wrapped the gold cord around the front card base.

I kept this one a CAS design and used the images from the Clearly Whimsy stamp set called "Happy Everything" which I embossed the "happy" sentiment with white EP over the black strip of card stock and then stamped the strip of gold stars with some gold ink.  I then stamped the "birthday" sentiment in black ink at the bottom and layered this white card front over top of a white A2 sized card base.  Simple, fun and the balloons really POP with the "Polished Stone" technique! :)

Card 3 - THIRD METHOD - Tim Holtz Adirondack Alcohol Inks
OK, this is probably my most favorite and, in my opinion, probably the easiest way to achieve this look!  This is achieved with the Tim Holtz Adirondack alcohol inks.  Of course he has a special applicator along with pre-cut felt pieces too!  There are a variety of colors including the metallic colors as well, of course!  I feel like I always have to add the metallic to get that gorgeous"Polished Stone" design when I do this.  It just seems to make it even more dramatic, but of course you don't have to!

So I have to tell you that when I did this background, the red wasn't a deep enough red to go with my DARLING Whimsy Stamps Wee Stamps - Holly image that I already had fully colored in!  So what do you do with that?  I took MORE alcohol ink in a deeper red and went over my background again until I got the look I wanted to achieve! :)  So just remember you can always go back to add more layers of color if you need to change it up!  You might even like it better! :)

And of course you can't see the stunning gold as well in the photo for my "Polished Stone" background, but I wanted to help bring some of that out by adding a gold mat of card stock behind this sweet image as well as on my "merry" sentiment from the Clearly Whimsy Stamp set "Christmas Greetings".  The image itself has some gold coloring on the bells she's wearing and I've also added some gold thread and looped it behind the image panel as well.
I've cut out the Whimsy Shapeology "Large Christmas Die" sentiment in white to go at the bottom and then added this "Polished Stone" panel onto a white A2 sized card base.

So alcohol IS a good thing to craft with in this case!! :)
I hope that you have been inspired and have enjoyed my video showing you how to do this technique!  Please let me know if you have tried this out yourself...I would love to see what you come with using one of these methods!!

Thanks so much for dropping by friend!!
Have a wonderfully crafty fun week!

Hello friends! - I'm back and ready to share more crafty inspiration with you!
Hope you're enjoying your weekend so far!  It's our annual "Scenic Drive" around our area, so we've been walking around and looking at what people have out.  I always have to get a bag of kettle corn every year too!  Love that stuff! :)

So today starts a new color combo challenge over at {Cupcake Inspirations}!  And here is a stunning photo with the theme to help inspire you with that:

Those flowers are just gorgeous!  Almost too pretty to eat on a cupcake!! LOL!

We have a fabulous sponsor for our challenge this week as well!
Scribbles Designs

They are offering up a wonderful prize this week to a lucky winner by giving away a $10.00 gift certificate!!  Wow!  So be sure to play along for your chance to win!!

They were very generous in giving the design team some cute images to play with for this challenge too!  Here's what I've come up....
This little critter really makes me smile! :)  He is called Hedgie with Flowers and I couldn't help but give him a googly eye!  I've colored his flowers to match up with the color combo and took some wink of stella glitter to go over them and added a few dots with my white gel pen.  The sentiment at the bottom of the hedgie was stamped from an image in my stash.

I used a floral embossing folder for my peach colored background and then added a few strips of the berry colored card stock above and below the image panel.  I took the mousse colored card stock for the base of my design and added a punched scallop border underneath Hedgie.  He was fun to color as well!  I've made him look like he's got some serious "hair" problems!! LOL!!

So I hope you will stop by and play along with us for this pretty color combo!!
Check out the {Cupcake Inspirations} blog to see the rest of the inspiration from the team!
Can't wait to see what you come up with!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!
I will have lots to catch up on this week!!  Stay tuned in!!
