January Guest Designer for JUGS!!

Hello friends!!
Welcome to the year 2016!! Yay!  Here's hoping to a wonderful FUN and crafty New Year to all of you!!  So happy to have you join with me on my blog for another year full of crafty adventures!
And this one starts off this year with some fun news! :)

I have been invited to join the lovely team this month over at
JUST US GIRLS (JUGS) CHALLENGE BLOG!!
JUGS Blinkie

So I hope you will play along in the fun with us every Saturday in January for a fun and new challenge! :)  Are you ready to get started?!!

So today's challenge is a nice and easy one along with a great way to get going on sending out all of those thank you notes for those great gifts you received for Christmas or fun event or party you have taken part in....

So here's what I have chosen to make for my design:
I have had a couple of card kits just "sitting around" and not even being open, so I wanted to be sure to get out some of the goodies within the kit to have a play with them!  (So basically, this is something BRAND NEW for me even though I've had it for a couple of months.)

I have used the Simon Says Stamp October 2015 card kit to make this card.  Every single thing I have used on this card except for the black ink, foam squares and adhesive came from the kit!  I have taken the thread from the kit to make the bow.  I even stamped a tiny heart from the stamp set in the kit and used the Gold Brilliance mini ink pad that came with the kit to stamp it.  I also used the ink to distress along the edges of the typewriter panel.  I stamped the sentiment onto the typing paper and added an enamel heart that I had in my stash.  I thought it matched the colors nicely.

So hope you've enjoyed my creation today!!
Can't wait to see what you make for the challenge!!  Be sure to pop on over to see what the rest of the talented bunch has made for you to see!!

Thanks so much for dropping in today my friends!!
See you soon!

Vicki, this typewriter looks EXACTLY like the one I owned when I was in High School in Mexico, OMG!! it was PINK!!!!! just like this one, how amazing.
Congratulations on your Guest Designer Spot this month, it's so much fun to be invited.
This card brought sweet memories of that long ago time when I took typing for the first time, I'm so glad my mother made me take this class instead of Home Economics, LOL!! I actually learned to cook and bake from my maternal grandma.
Sweet card, love the sweet detail of that little enamel heart.
Hugs,
Maria Rodriguez.

First, Happy New Year, Vicki! I'm so looking forward to your amazing creations this year (while still drooling over most of yours from last year!) THis is a fantastic and fun card - love the color palette ♥ I still have my old "Brother" typewriter from High School and get such a kick out of it, typing on it from time to time (those ribbons are precious, though!) Thanks for the wonderful happy moment seeing this card :) Blessings and here we go - 2016!

Your card is so fantastic and a wonderful idea with the typewriter.
I think most of younger people don`t know what a typewriter is :-)

Happy New Year to you as well! This card is bringing back memories of me writing, well typing papers late into the night- keeping everyone up to the sound of me pecking along at the keys... : ) I never took typing, so called it the Columbus landing system..... I love the pink heart and all of the fun details on this card. I have resisted the card kits so far- way too much unused 'stuff' in my crafting room! but when I catch up....

Your pink typewriter, sporting it's heart-warming message, is wonderfully delightful and has certainly sparked some 'once upon a time' memories! Way back when (30+ years ago...eeek!), my second year of teaching saw me teaching typing 6 classes a day; four were on the old carriage style machines and 2 on the 'then emerging' new-fangled electrics. While the job was incredibly boring, these were the 'keys' that eventually lead me to a career in the field I was educated in: teaching high school English. Good thing I took typing in high school...one of the most valuable skills I ever learned! Love your card!
Hugs, with extras for the oh-so-sweet note you sent me! You are such a treasure!

Congratulations! What a great way to kick start the year. Cute cute card and that little pink heart is sooo adorable. I remember those typewriters only too well. We had one at home for "important" letters... happy days pre word processor! Thanks for the trip down memory lane, friend!
