Whimsy Stamps New Release - Day 3 Inspiration - Card Kit

Hello friends!
Welcome to Day 3 of the Whimsy Stamps New Release Inspiration!

If you missed my post sharing the full details (and video) of the Whimsy Stamps card kit - CLICK HERE!

Today I have more inspiration to share with you using the February 2016 card kit!

Today I am sharing some projects that I made with several items from the card kit that could be used no matter which card kit you choose to purchase:
I thought the colors and fun embellishments/accents within this kit were so fun to play with by themselves even without using the rubber stamps, so I kept with the feeling of warm Spring in mind when creating these projects!  :)

Here's a closer look at the "thank you" card:
I thought the Garden Flowers die set contained in this card kit was very versatile in the different ways that it could be used.  (I have used it in different ways on other projects.)

I have used the "Gold Shimmer White" card stock from the card kit for the front card base and then die cut several of the flowers with the white card stock from the kit and glued it over top of the shimmer card stock to make an "embossed" look over it.  I've also used the shimmer card stock to stamp the frame and sentiment (included in the kit) and stamped it with green ink, fussy cut it out and popped it up over the flowered background.  (In order to get my sentiment lined up within the frame, I used my stamp-a-ma-jig.)

I have used a strip of decorative papers and also a strip of yellow glitter paper from the kit and then popped up the flowered background with craft foam and placed it over an A2 sized white card base.  Before I attached it to the card base, I took some of the twine from the kit to tie on the front with the flowered card base.  I then took some sequins from the kit and added to the front for accents.

Here's another fun project I made with the kit:
I have taken the papers and accents from the card kit and decided to "up-cycle" an old container I had for this fun hat treat container! :)

I had an old plastic container with a lid that stored some brads or something that I would normally have just thrown away, but hung on to it so that I could do something crafty with it later on.  I tend to save lots of old containers sometimes for no reason at all!! LOL!!  I think this may have came from my grandma....she would save EVERYTHING!  She always had some sort of "crafty plan" for whatever it was!!

So for this hat, I took some papers from the card kit and used my scallop circle die cut to use for the bottom, but because it wasn't as "sturdy" for the bottom as I would like, I've also die cut a piece of thin card board material (left over from a packaging that I would normally throw away).  I took the plastic container and glued it to the base with the scallop circle and then glued the plastic container in the center of it.  I also took some more of the same papers and cut out a circle that fit over top of the lid.  The edge of the hat was covered with more papers from the kit as well as the ribbon which I tied a bow and then attached some flowers and accents to the center of it which also all came from the card kit.

And so when you lift the lid on the plastic container, you can fill it with some candy!
I filled this with some coordinating colors of Skittles candy for mine here.  (I thought citrus flavors sort of went with the colors of  the design.)  I also thought you could easily put a sentiment over top of the lid or attach a tag somewhere to give to someone.

And so for my last, but not least project from this card kit is this fun watering can shaped treat container that I made using all papers and accents from the card kit.

I took the yellow card stock from the kit and printed out a template that I had found on the Splitcoast Stampers website.  CLICK HERE if you'd like to see the template and tutorial on it.  I sponged around the edges of the pattern to give it a bit of depth and dimension.

I have taken some decorative papers from the card kit and cut a couple of strips to attach around the bottom of the watering can.  I also took one of the dies from the Garden Flowers die set and cut it out with white card stock.  I took some ink to give it some color by sponging over it with green and purple colors.  I have also stamped a tag with the frame and sentiment from the card kit and colored the frame with some Copic markers in matching colors.

I punched a hole in the side of the frame and ran some twine from the kit through it to attach to the treat bag inside of the watering can.  There was also a butterfly sequins in the kit that I attached to the watering can for a final touch.

I hope you've enjoyed all of the projects that I've made using this card kit!

A trio of WOW projects, Vicki! The treat box and watering can are sheer delights. The thank you card...I was sure you'd used an embossing folder, so discovering you used die-cuts...yet more evidence of your ingenuity!
