Circles of Thanks

Hello friends!
I hope you all had a lovely weekend!  I see that we are nearing the Thanksgiving holiday and I feel that I've been falling behind in pretty much everything lately! LOL!
I have been wanting to join with many different charities and other fun events going on right now, but now I'm going to have to pick and choose what I'm going to be able to handle right now.

I have actually made several cards.  I have sent some, but I still have some others that I'm working on too and I will post as I find the time.  For now, this is a creation that I've made but haven't posted until now:
I know that you may be used to "cute" creations from me, but I'm a fan of MANY different styles of art and sometimes you will find me going in a different direction at times like for instance, this one!

I fell in love with an inspirational photo challenge (see below) and had to give it a try!
For the background circle strip in this card, I have used the STAMPlorations Retro Circles stencil and used some distress inks to sponge over top.  I love how they blended together through the stencil.  To keep with the photo, I only did the strip.  I wanted some splatters, so I took some black watercolor with a water filled paint brush and splattered some dots over it.

If you remember the last art journal page I did, then you probably remember the skeleton leaves that I've used on it.  I still had a couple of them left and decided to use another one on this card.  So I took some clear glitter to glue over the leaf and attached that to the card.  I die cut the STAMPloration thanks die in black and attached that over the glittered leaf.

I wanted some more of the black to show on my card, so I decided to cut the top right corner of the white card base off and have the black card base show through, but it was too stark for me, so I took some white shimmer paint and splattered some more dots onto the black.  The white watercolor did not show up over the black, so I had to pull out some paint for it to show on the black.

I finished it off with some Nuvo Violet Galaxy Crystal Drops.
Here's a closer look at the details:
I think that the splatters really add a fun touch to this design.
I hope you've enjoyed my creation and I will be posting again very soon as I have some thank you cards to send to a couple of friends and need to get them made! :)

Thanks so much for stopping by today and I'll see you soon!

I do remember the skeleton leaves and this one is really pretty too, but also artsy. I like the splatters and stenciling, that is really neat.

I do the same thing with styles. I think I do have a style that I usually do and then I will go off in any which random direction when I feel like it. OR when I think the recipient of my card will like that better.

Thanks for sharing and have a happy Thanksgiving!

WOW love the way you used the leaf and the gorgeous thanks over it. Leaves used be so popular when I was a schoolgirl and it feels good to see they are in fashion again!!

Vicki, that leaf steals the show for me here, it is so pretty against the retro circles. Great make. Sorry I have really a bad bloggy friend of lately, I haven't been able to do much commenting, but for the DT commitments. I am trying to get back to a routine, and will try my best on commenting.

Wonderful Art! I'd seen this stencil (just got a lovely order from Stamplorations) and wondered how it could be used. Oh my, I love how you've used it in this design. Love the colors, using it as a slanted decorative strip - the leaf looks perfect as an airy embellishment. Also like the way you've trimmed the front of the card to allow the background to show. And great spatters too! Happy Thanksgiving. TFS & Hugs
