One Layer Outlined Christmas

Hello friends!
Ok...I was busier than I thought I would be this week! LOL!  You sort of have to *stand* over the stove when making Christmas candy...so there wasn't much *sitting* for me this week which means I haven't gotten on the computer except to type up and schedule a few postings!  I have looked over FB on my phone a couple of times to "like" a few things though! :)  I'm hopefully finishing up my candies this evening and then start on the baking of cookies which will give me a few minutes of sitting while I smell the wonderful smells of cookies baking! :)  - Perhaps then I can share a photo of what's going on!  Yum!

I'm pleased to hear that some people have received my Christmas cards...so I'm going to post them and I do have many of them which I'll share more about later, but I made this one using some "new to me" Altenew Stamps.  I was introduced or enabled by a blog friend with them and so I had to give them a try and have REALLY liked what I've been playing with so far! :)

Here's a Christmas card that I made for a special Veterinary Specialist who helps me with my fur friend Mocca and all of her special needs as she gets older:
I don't know why I'm so intimidated with one-layer cards, but they seem hard for me and other times they just seem to go together really well! :)  I think this is one of those times.

The image I've used is called Winter Cottage.  There was not much coloring to be done, but I did get out my Copics and color in bit of the trees, cabin and shading for the snow.  I've also took a T-ruler and outlined the edges of the card with a Copic liner pen.

Here's a closer look at some of the details:
So as you can see, I've added some sparkle to the snow with a Wink of Stella clear glitter pen and then I thought it would be fun to add a faint smoke coming from the chimney on top of the cabin.

For the sentiment, I've used the Halftone Holidays and stamped the large word with blue ink and the other portion of the sentiment in black.  I also love the coordinating dies that go with this.
For the inside of most of my Christmas cards this year, I found a new favorite that I really have fallen in love with.  Sometimes it's really hard to find nice sentiments to go on the inside of your cards, but this company, in my opinion, has done a great job with this set called Holiday Wishes.  (I don't normally share the inside of my cards and I didn't think to take a photo to share with you, but if you click on the link you can see the great versatility for the insides of your Christmas cards.)  I know that I will be pulling this many times in the future as well!

Hope you've enjoyed my CAS Christmas card today!
Thanks so much for dropping by and I'll have another post coming shortly...stayed tuned!

What a lovely and bright Christmas card. I really like the cottage and the large greeting underneath.

One layer cards are hard for a lot of reasons, but you did a lovely job.

One of my favorite Altenew images...and I agree, those inside sentiments are wonderful! I will have to add them to my list for Santa! This little one-layer card is a beauty! You can't go wrong with a little scene, especially with a DEER!

This is the third stamp company that issued this stamp and it has me scratching my head. What do you think that's all about? I have the TH and when I used it people comment that the stamp was already made by another company, now I see that Altenew is doing it to. Strange! Well, regardless of who poured the rubber, I sure love it and it looks like yours is smaller than mine, which I also like. Really pretty card! Big Christmas hugs to you, Autumn

What a gorgeous, traditional festive scene! I love the colouring and clean, crisp layout. It's great when you find a good veterinarian/assistant and can trust them with your beloved pets - hope yours appreciates the thought and care that have gone into this lovely card!
