Just Us Girls with Tic Tac Toe Happiness

Happy Saturday friends!

Today is my last post as a January guest designer for
Just Us Girls
I sure have enjoyed playing along with these friendly ladies this month and I hope you've enjoyed what I've shared for the challenges as well.

There is a fun Tic Tac Toe board to play with this week:

Here's what I've decided to make for my creation using the above board:
This card just makes me feel happy because it's a reminder that Spring is on the way very soon!  I have used a couple of different rows from the Tic Tac Toe board for this which is the diagonal row with ribbon, stamps & sequins OR I could also use the middle row going down with die-cuts, stamps & flowers.

I have used several My Favorite Things products on this creation.  I have used the stunning Roses All Over Background stamp on the Lemon Chiffon card base as well as the Coral Crush  piece.  I have stamped the flowers out with the Modern Bloom and dies with the Lemon Chiffon for the leaves and the Coral Crush, Peach Bellini and Pure Plum for the flowers.  It's hard to tell in the photo, but I've covered them with Wink of Stella.

For the die cuts, I have used the Stitched Square Frames and the Happy Trio dies.  The "happy" sentiment was cut out with some Peach Bellini card stock.

For the background, I've also taken a paint brush dipped in water and splattered some Pure Plum ink over the yellow card base.  I've added s Pure Plum banner along the side, ribbon and some clear sequins to finish off my design.  I have based both the colors and design from the MFT challenges below.

I hope you've enjoyed my creation today!
Thanks for stopping by!

Blogger and Google with Friend Connect

Hello friends and happy Friday to you!!

I have a note that I wanted to pass along that I see many of my blog friends doing the same thing and so I thought it was probably a good idea just in case the information needs to be passed along for some reason.  CLICK HERE for information from blogger on the "Friend Connect" gadget.

You will notice that I have a "friend connect" or "blogger followers" gadget on the right sidebar of my blog here.  There are many people that like to let you know publicly that they are "following" your blog which is very nice and I use it myself.  HOWEVER, if this is the method at which you do get updates to my blog and you DO NOT have a Google profile, you have been automatically removed from my "followers" gadget.  What does that mean?  It means that if this is method in which you follow along with my blog, you won't see my updated posts any longer and you will not see your profile on my "friend connect" gadget.  I have lost a few of you as of now.

So if you would like to get a Google profile to follow me again, you will be able to receive the updates and your profile will show up in the "follower's gadget" again. (and on all of the blogs that you follow.)  To get a Google profile, CLICK HERE to see the information.  It's very simple and easy to do.

On another note, if you do not want a Google profile, there are several other ways to follow along with me on this blog as well as other social media that you may prefer on the right side of my blog here.  You can get updates for my blog through your e-mail box OR connect with me on FB, You Tube, Pinterest or Flickr profiles that I have.  What I use currently and that I highly recommend to anyone to keep all of the blogs you follow neatly organized and easy to read is through
FEEDLY
This is my favorite reader to quickly go through the hundreds of blogs and websites that I follow daily.  I have used it for a few years now and really love it.  If you use Google Chrome as your browser, Feedly has a "mini Feedly tool" that will show up in the bottom right corner of every blog that you are surfing and when you click on it, it will expand so that you can add the current blog you're visiting to your Feedly reader.  You can select from there in which category you'd like to save the blog for future reading.

I also know of another popular feed reader which is Blog Lovin'.  I have tried it, but do not like it and found the Feedly reader a much better option for me.  However, there are many people that really seem to enjoy using this method.  So the point is, there are plenty of options in which you can choose to follow along with me and your other favorite blogs to get updates.

I know that there are many people that follow along with me who do not leave comments, but I have received e-mail from a few of you that say you have been following along with me for years!  So there are some people there that are very quiet, but I want you to know that I TRULY appreciate your support no matter how you prefer to follow along with my blog.  It is ALL very much appreciated and I'm deeply grateful to have such a wonderful group of fellow craft lovers to share with!

Enjoy your Friday and I'll see you again tomorrow!! :)

Shaped Card with Die Cut Techniques for Whimsy Stamps + Video!!

Hello friends!
Here we are in the middle of another week and can you believe it is already the LAST week in January?!  The first month of the year is almost gone!  Time seems to fly!

Today I have a fun card with a video tutorial using some products from
Whimsy Stamps
Do you love your dies?  I sure do, but over time I move on and forget about some of the really cool ones I have in my collection and I always love to come up with different or new ways to use them!
I'm not sure if any of this is new to you, but it's a great reminder to go through your dies and come up with different ways to use them.

Here I have a fun masculine style card that I created into a shaped design using a border die:
I've used the Whimsy Shapeology die set called Basic Borders Trio die set and used the ornate looking bracket border die from the set to create this fun shaped design from an A2 sized card base.

I have also used some fun new stamp sets that came out this month from Whimsy Stamps:  Get in Line (to make the plaid background), Painted Sayings (for the sentiment & splatter accents) and the Everyday Mini Sentiments (for the "you rock" tab).

I have also used the inlay die technique for the Whimsy Shapeology Thanks Word die on my design to help keep my design nice and flat for mailing...plus I didn't have to worry about gluing together the intricate sentiment die cut!

So of course I have a fun video tutorial for you on this process!  So check it out by CLICKING HERE to see on You Tube or you can just watch it below:

I hope you enjoyed the video and got some good tips from it!

Thanks so much for stopping by today my friends!
I'll see you again soon!

Making a Stink Over Watercolor

Good morning friends!
Since I had fun playing with my watercolors from yesterday, I thought that I would continue on playing with them to make another card!

I absolutely ADORE this sweet little skunk from Lawn Fawn!  He was actually a "speciality" stamp set and coordinating die that you received as a free gift when you made a purchase a while back.  Well of course I had to jump on the deal...who doesn't need more Lawn Fawn in their life?! LOL!
Anyway, the name of the stamp set is of course "Stinkin' Cute".

I have colored this guy with my Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and cut him out with the coordinating die which I've popped up over my watercolor heart.

For the heart, I have used some Strathmore Coldpress Watercolor paper and my distress inks that I pressed down on a craft mat, spritzed with water and smeared the paper onto the craft mat with the spritzed ink, which gave me the look.  I had an extra piece of the paper and smeared that onto the left over colors from the craft mat as well.  I used this extra piece to die cut the tiny hearts you see from the coordinating "Stinkin' Cute" set.

For the largest heart, I have die cut it from the watercolor paper with the LF Heart Stackables die set.  I have also used the LF Stitched Small Squares Stackables & the LF Stitched Large Square Stackables for layering the white card stock panels along with the Silver Foil card stock piece over a white 4-1/4" square card base.  I have also taken the coordinating tiny heart from the "Stinkin' Cute" set and cut out an additional heart with the Silver Foil card stock.

For both the sentiment and the tiny black hearts on the watercolor heart, I've used the images from the "Stinkin' Cute" stamp set and stamped those with the Ranger Archival Jet Black Ink so that it could be stamped over the watercolor without affecting it.  I have also used some dashed lined images from the set to make little "stinky scent lines" coming from the skunk! LOL!!  Don't know if that is what is intended for those images, but I thought it would be funny to have him making a stink!! LOL!!

Here's a closer look:

I thought this would be a fun little Valentine to give out! :)
Hope you've enjoyed my creation today!  See you again soon!

Watercolor Flowers for Caring Hearts Card Drive

Good evening friends and happy Monday!
Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! :)

I have been fighting a bad sinus infection, but hopefully I will be recovering soon with plenty of water and meds.  In the meantime, I have been playing around with some of my watercolor over the weekend and thought I would share what I did.

So I saw on the Simon Says Stamp blog about a special card drive and fundraiser for a wonderful charity especially for mothers who have lost a child due to a miscarriage.  Although I wasn't able to use the stamp set from the Hero Arts fundraiser, I did make a few cards to send along that hopefully will help the goal.  I couldn't imagine going through something so difficult, so I thought this was something that I could contribute to in some way.

Here are the cards that I will be sending along:
I have been wanting to play around with my watercolors and I had just received a Stampin' Up! order with a couple of Sale-a-bration sets and wanted to have a play session with them together!

So I have used the beautiful flower images from the "Flowering Fields" SAB stamp set and I have inked them up with some MFT Steel Gray Hybrid ink so that I could use them with my Zig Kuretake Gansi Tambi watercolors.  I went to work with some paint brushes and water.

For the "So Sorry" sentiment, I stamped it with the same MFT Steel Gray Hybrid ink.  The sentiment comes from the "So Sorry" stamp set by Stampin' Up! as well.  For the strip towards the bottom of the card, I have used some Stampin' Up! Basic Gray card stock and embossed the sentiment from the "So Sorry" stamp set with white embossing powder.

To finish off my design, I rounded each corner of the cards with my corner chomper.

I also had to put the cards under some heavy books over night to flatten them out from the watercolor I did.  This should teach me to use watercolor paper and not regular card stock for this!  I was trying to make it a one layer card and this is why I didn't "naturally" go for the heavy watercolor paper.

Here's another look at the other design:
This particular image was a bit taller on my card than the other floral images, so I didn't have enough space to add the "So Sorry" sentiment at the top.

I took another Stampin' Up! stamp set called "Teeny Tiny Wishes" to white emboss it over the Basic Gray strip on my design.  I actually had this particular design in mind when making my card in the first place which was inspired by a sketch challenge below.

Thought you might like to see a closer look at some of the watercolor on this card because it's hard to tell from a distance that the watercolor on the flowers is a metallic and very shimmery in person!

Hope you were inspired by my creations today!
Thanks so much for dropping by!  See you soon!

Inspired by Photo for Just Us Girls

Hello friends!
Happy weekend and hope you're all doing well!

I'm here today to share this week's challenge as guest designer for this month over at
JUST US GIRLS
For this week's challenge, they have a fabulous inspirational photo for you:
It's really cold over my way right now and this photo really evoked a nice and warm Summer feeling for me which I think would be great about right now! LOL!
So here's the card that I came up with for this challenge:

I loved the colors in this, so my point was to sort of mimic the the anchor on the wall with the yellow color.  I have used the Lawn Fawn Stitched circles die to cut out a yellow circle that fit the size of the anchor which was also die cut from the Lawn Fawn Float My Boat die cut set in silver glitter card stock.  I punched a hole in the center top of the anchor and glued it over the yellow circle.  The circle is popped up with some foam squares.

For the stitched lines behind the anchor and the navy chevron pattern that was stamped along the left side of the card front, I have used the Whimsy Stamps Clear set Basic Backgrounds and Borders.  The stitched lines were stamped on the die cut circle with the same yellow color as the card stock.  I stamped the chevron image with navy ink.

For the sentiment I used the Lawn Fawn Float My Boat stamp set and stamped it in the bottom corner with navy ink.  I've also taken the Lawn Fawn hearts die set and cut out a navy heart  to add above the sentiment along with some sequins which I've also added a dot of silver Sickles glitter glue to in the center of each.  I rounded the two right corners of the white card front with my corner chomper and attached this onto an A2 sized white card base.

So now you need to go over and check out the Just Us Girls Challenge blog to see what the rest of the talented ladies have come up with using this photo too!  Hope you can play along with us!

Thanks so much for stopping in today!
Hope you are staying warm and enjoy your weekend! :)

Just Us Girls Color Combo Challenge

Hello friends!
Happy weekend!  Hope you're staying warm where you are.
Wanted to share another brand new challenge over at
JUST US GIRLS
for my guest design spot for this month and this week's color combo:
Now I know that this color combo would probably have you thinking of cold things like snow, but I wanted to create something that had a little bit of warmth to it...and yes, I've used another butterfly image again this week.  I'm seeing many butterfly creations all over and wondering if this is going to be the trending theme for this Spring?  Perhaps it's just me?  Anyway, here's my card:
I have pulled out a brand new stamp set for me from Happy Little Stampers called Butterfly Birthday including the coordinating butterfly dies that go with it.  It also comes with a couple of great sentiments to use within the set which I have used on my card here.  They are a fairly new company located in Australia with designs by Kylie Purtell, which I have come to know by being a design team member for her Addicted to Stamps & More challenges.  You should check out her shop, there are some really adorable stamp sets in there! :)

I have done the "smooshing" technique on my design with some Stampin' Up! ink colors Night of Navy and Soft Sky for the blue tones.  I pressed the ink pads onto a piece of acetate sheet and then spritzed them with some water and then applied it to a piece of glossy card stock which gave me this watercolor look behind the butterfly.  I rounded one of the corners of the piece and stamped the sentiment with Night of Navy ink just above the butterfly and then finished it off with some white sparkly enamel dots.  The glossy piece was layered onto a piece of Night of Navy card stock that was also rounded on the corner.  I layered this onto an A2 sized white card base.

For the butterfly on my design, I stamped the image with VersaMark ink onto a piece of Night of Navy card stock and embossed it with white embossing powder.  I used the coordinating Butterfly dies to cut it out and then glued it just in the center of the butterfly to attach to my design so that I could lift up the wings and give it dimension.  I also covered the butterfly with some Wink of Stella for a bit of shimmer.

Hope you've enjoyed my butterfly blues creations today and I hope you will join along with us this week for the great color combo!!  Please be sure to stop by the Just Us Girls challenge blog to see all of the other wonderful inspiration from the team! :)

Thanks for stopping by and enjoy your weekend!! :)

Whimsy Stamps New Release - Day 3 Inspiration - Get in Line Intro + Video with MISTI Tool!

Hello friends!  It's finally Friday! YAY!
I think we are due to take a trip to give our new grandbabies some kisses this weekend and I can't wait to see how much they're grown over the last couple of months! :)

Today is DAY 3 (final day) of the Whimsy Stamps New Release Inspiration Week!
So be sure that you check out the Whimsy Inspirations Blog for more inspiration from the rest of the design team as well as a chance to win some prizes!!  - Don't miss out!

So do you remember my sneak peek from last week?! - this was it!
I am so excited about this new stamp set that has come out called "Get in Line".  It's probably one of my favorites from this release!  :)  Here's what I've made:
I've used this stamp set to make a plaid background with Valentine colors for my card.  I've also included the Scripty Word Love die from the new release as well.  And because I think tiny hearts are a wonderful element to add to any design, I have taken the new released Puzzle Pieces die set to cut out a few hearts for my card too.  The pink scallop edge was made with the Basic Borders Trio die set.

This clear stamp set has many, many, many versatile uses for it and I'm sure you've seen a few examples with it from the other design team members the last few days (If you haven't, be sure to check it out on the Whimsy Inspirations Blog!), but there are a few tips and tricks to know about this stamp set when you get ready to use it.  So I thought it would be a great idea to put together a video to share how I've made this plaid background:

CLICK HERE to see this video on You Tube or just watch it below:

Please be sure to click the like button if this was helpful to you!  What do you think of the new "Get in Line" stamp set?  Would this be something you would enjoy playing with?

To give you an additional idea using this same set, I've also made this card with it:
I took the image with the triple lines and stamped it in a rainbow of colors on a masked off area of a white card base.  I also took the stitched lines from the set and inked it up with black ink to make another element to my design.  The sentiment that I've used to stamp in the center is from this month's new release as well called Painted Sayings.  I love the little splatter images that come with it too!  This is such a fun set to mix and match words with.

I hope you've enjoyed the Whimsy Stamps January 2016 new release and have been getting lots of inspiration this week from the design team!  Have fun shopping!!

Thanks for stopping in with me today!  See you again tomorrow!! :)

Whimsy Stamps New Release - Day 2 with Clearly Whimsy Sets!

Hello friends!
Welcome to Day 2 of the Whimsy Stamps New Release Inspiration!
Have you checked out the entire release yet?!  There are SO MANY really adorable products that just came out yesterday!  Be sure to check out the Whimsy Inspirations Blog so you can see all of them in addition enter to win some "Whimsy Cash"!

Today, my inspiration involves the Clearly Whimsy Stamps sets from the new release this month!
Check it out below:
Puzzle time and "cuddle time" are just great for Valentine's Day!  :)  LOL!
I was going for a masculine style look with my design here using the new release set called "You Complete Me".  I love the different variations that you can come up with for this set!  In addition to this clear stamp set, there are also coordinating dies that go with it called Puzzle Pieces.

I found some grid looking paper from my stash and thought it would be perfect to use for this set.  I kept the colors gray and cream with just a pop of red for the hearts that were also die cut from the Puzzle Pieces die set.  I covered them with some glossy accents.  I took a couple of the puzzle pieces and popped them up with foam tape.  A great card to give to hubby!  :)

For my second creation:
How stinkin' cute is this fellow?!!  He makes me smile! :)
I have used this fun new release Clearly Whimsy set called Just a Note.  It comes with an adorable pencil and some other really cute images within the set, so check it out!
I was doing a little "pun" with my image and added the "just a note" sentiment on him from the new release Clearly Whimsy set called Everyday Mini Sentiments.  These are the perfect size to add to many different projects!  I love it!  The "Hi!" bubble was colored and popped up on my design with some foam tape.  (This image also comes from the Just a Note set.)

I have also taken some heart papers from my stash and cut along the edge of them with the Whimsy Shapeology Spiral Notebook Border die, but I didn't cut the one edge so it would leave it in tact.  (To see how to do this, check out my video - CLICK HERE.)  I also thought it would be cute to add a couple of wooden hearts that I've glued above the image.

These were so fun to use and I can't wait to create more with them!
Hope you will come by again tomorrow to see what else I've made!
Hope you've enjoyed my inspiration today!  Thanks for stopping by! :)

Whimsy Stamps New Release is Here! January 2016 Card Kit + video!

Hello friends!
So excited to share several things with you!  Today is the FIRST day of the
Whimsy Stamps

New Release and January 2016 Card Kit Release!  Check it all out below!
This is the kit with the Woodland Owl rubber stamp

- OR -

This is the kit with the Doggie Skywriter rubber stamp

Of course wouldn't you know that I just happen to have some projects to share with you using this kit?!  I had so much FUN using the items in this kit!  I still have SO MANY items left over and I feel like I could've just kept going with it, but I just didn't have the time!!

So check out the projects that I've made using the contents within the kits:
This is the kit with the Woodland Owl rubber stamp.  I think he's adorable!

Here's a closer look at the card:
I have colored him in with my Copic markers and then cut him out with the Stitched Circle dies from Whimsy Stamps.  I've also used the new release Clearly Whimsy Stamp set called Everyday Mini Sentiments. (So be sure to look for more designs using this set!)  The papers and glittery heart accents all come from the kit.

Here's a look at the project I made with the Doggie Skywriter card kit:
I think this little guy is just as cute as can be!!  I've colored him with my Copic markers and added some glossy accents to his goggles and little hearts on his airplane.  There are also some metallic coloring on parts of the airplane to give it a shinny metal look.  Everything that I've used on this project is included in the kit!  (with the exception of the candy!! LOL!)

Would you like to know how to make one of these adorable door hanger treat holders?!
Check out my video below to get an up-close look at the kit and stay tuned in at the end of the video to see how to put together one of these treat holders!!

CLICK HERE to view the video on You Tube or watch below:

Pretty amazing kit, right?!  If you didn't take advantage of the PREORDER, you can now order them until they are sold out.  Once the kits sell out, they will not be restocked.  So be sure to pick up your kit before they're gone!

As always, there will be an instructional sheet included with the kit you purchase.
The instructional sheet will include step-by-step instructions on how I put together this project using items from within the card kit.  So be sure to check that out when you get it!

And if this post wasn't photo heavy enough for you, here's a look at the other projects I made from the kit:
I made a super simple design using the die cuts along with several of the papers that are included in the kit.  I used the papers from the kit to cut out the words that just happened to fit perfectly inside the candy wrapper dies.  I covered them with some glossy accents for a shinny candy wrapper look.  The bow die was cut out and I've added a button in the center of it which also came from the kit.  Don't you just love that glittery paper?!  I've used it as a layer behind my candies that are popped up over the white card stock.  I just added some stitched line with a pink marker around the edges.  The dotted papers and even the card base all came from the kit.

And here's a look at my lollipop holder that would be a great treat for any Valentine!
I have a tootsie pop on the inside of it.  With just a couple of simple folds, I transformed the contents within the kit into something sweet.  :)  The glittery heart on the front is one of the wooden hearts from the kit that I have inked up with white ink.  While it was still wet, I sprinkled some glitter over top of it and let it dry into the ink.  The "yummy" label is from some of the papers in the kit.

Hope you've enjoyed the introduction of the Whimsy 2016 card kit!!
Thanks so much for stopping in today!!  If you haven't yet, be sure to check out everything going on over at the Whimsy Inspirations Blog during the New Release! - You don't want to miss a single thing!

I'll be back again tomorrow with more New Release fun!! :)

Let it SNOW!

Hi friends!
I'm back today with a real quick card I made the other day and got busy with things yesterday, so I didn't get a chance to post it until now!

Brrrr!  Right?!  Are you a fan of snow, or no?
I do love ALL seasons in some sort of fashion.  Like everything else in life, they all have their pluses and minuses of course!  I am thankful to live in an area where I can enjoy every single season in full and sometimes to an extreme condition!  I think if I lived somewhere that didn't give me a chance to see the snow falling outside my window, I would really miss it in all it's beauty.
And where I live, things can change rather quickly when it comes to the weather...so in the extreme cold and snow to the very hot and humid....I get to enjoy it all! :)

I have gotten some brand spankin' NEW Lawn Fawn products and they were just waiting for me to pull them out to shine! :)  I do love those mini snowflakes dies!  I've cut one out with some silver glitter paper and then a few of them in white card stock for my design here.  The Navy background was cut with the Snowy Backdrop die, which was layered onto a piece of silver glitter paper.  The sentiment was stamped with navy ink from the Snowy Backdrops stamp set.  I cut my own "fishtail" for the banner and attached it to the design.  The silver snowflake was attached to a navy circle that I cut out and then layered that onto another piece of silver glitter paper that was cut from the Stitched Circle stackables die.

I've attached all of this onto a piece of white card stock and then layered that onto a navy A2 sized card base.  I've also added a small white and silver enamel dot to the centers of the two largest snowflakes to finish it off.

Speaking of Lawn Fawn, have you seen their newest release for CHA?!  I'm jealous if you went and bought stuff!! Some day maybe I can go.  Oh my the new release has so many fun things that I'd like to add to my cart...but I have to BEHAVE right now!! ;)  So hard when companies do this to you, right?!

So anyway, hope you've enjoyed my snowy creation today!
Be sure to stop by again tomorrow as I will have something fun, new and exciting to share with you!
Stay warm!!

Celebrating the New Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge as Guest Designer!

Hello friends!
I have some very exciting news to share with you today!
There's a brand new challenge in the crafting community here and I'm very proud to be apart of the excitement with my blog friend Ka from Stamping Smiles Designs.

She has started up a brand new challenge called the:
Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge
So you guessed it!  Her challenges will revolve around a new tic tac toe board for each challenge so you can pick what will work for your projects.  Sounds like fun, right?!  She has also asked me to be her very first Guest Designer for this kick-off and of course I'm very honored!

So please be sure to stop by and say hello and follow along so you don't miss out on any of the fun over there!  I know it will be a big hit with my fellow stamp friends! :)  I look forward to seeing all of you playing along with it especially for this very first challenge!

So to get things started, here's the very first tic-tac-toe board for challenge #1:
I think it's a great one to start out with for this month, don't you?

So here's what I've come up with using the above board as inspiration:
(I have used the top three across as well as the three left down elements on my design.)
*all of the elements I've used for this challenge are in bold type print below*
I think this turned out so "dog-gone" CUTE!  :)  Reminds me of my own beloved pet doxie Mocca!  (They tend to be "proud" little critters, don't they?! LOL!)

This cutie comes from Whimsy Stamps called Dachshund Balloon.  It is a set of rubber stamps that also includes the sentiment above with it! :)  I have colored the image in with my Copic markers and I've also added some gold to his collar with my gold gel pen.  I stamped the "Celebrate" sentiment above the pup so that it would all fit within my shaker square.

The background was also stamped with a couple of different colors using the star border image from the Clearly Whimsy Stamps Basic Christmas Backgrounds.  I have a couple of different colors to match the balloons that the wiener dog is holding in his mouth.  I decided to stamp the background so that I could actually use the tic tac toe board in two different ways for this challenge.

For the shaker portion of my design, I have used the MFT Stitched Square Frames and cut one out with some of the MFT Gold Foil Card Stock to make the frame for my shaker.  I have also used the same die to cut out the background with my stamped doggie as well as another piece for the window of my shaker design using some acetate.

And so for the "Sparkle" portion of my design, I have added several different kinds of sequins and confetti on the inside of the shaker square that I've created.  I have gold stars, sparkly clear sequins and lots of sparkly Martha Stewart confetti stars that are so fun to shake around!  I have used two layers of foam tape around the frame so that the sequins had plenty of room to shake around! :)

And here's another close-up view of this sweet image.  You will notice that there are little bits of the star confetti "stuck" in various places on the stamped background, but that is because I added a couple of liquid glue dots to some areas so that it would purposely stick, as you know the shaker contents will all settle to the bottom.

So now please pop on over to the brand new Tic-Tac-Toe Challenge RIGHT NOW and play along with us!  Be sure to check out the rest of the design team inspiration while you're there and I can't wait to see what you'll come up with!!

Thanks so much for stopping in with me today and I'll see you soon!!

Just Us Girls in Metallic!

Hello friends!
Welcome to the weekend!
I'm here as this month's GDT to share a brand new challenge over at
Just Us Girls

The fun new challenge for this week is:
There are so many different ideas you can do with this theme and they have given you several good examples to spring-board ideas from!

Here's the creation that I've decided to make for it:
I have loads of metallic papers and always seem to try and hoard them so much! :)  So I've decided that this year is the year that I will pull them out and use some because they are so pretty and eye-catching!  For this particular card, I'm not quite sure what I want to use for it yet so I decided to keep the sentiment off or when the time comes write/stamp a message on the inside.

The dotted gold foil vellum comes from Stampin' Up! and I have a great package of this that hardly gets used because I think I need to keep it for some reason?!  Do you ever do that or am I just the silly one here?!!  Both the Gold Foil card stock and the die cut butterfly comes from My Favorite Things.  (LOVE that butterfly set!)  I've embossed the Gold Foil and White card stock strip with a scripty word embossing folder which also came from SU!  I've added some gold metallic thread looped underneath the butterfly for added extra "metallic-ness".

Here's a closer look at the butterfly:
I think the gold metallic looks stunning as it reflects the light from the other gold on the card design.

Anyway, I hope that my design has inspired you in some way to play along with us this week!
Be sure to check out the rest of the stunning design from the lovely ladies over on the challenge blog!  I'm sure they'll "knock your socks off"!

Thanks for stopping by today!  See you again tomorrow!!
