Camp Create Crunching

Hello friends!
So it looks like I set myself on fire now!  LOL!
I seen that MFT has started up their fun "Camp Create" again this year and so of course I wanted to join along in the fun and get my marshmallow toasted in the fire before it's gone! :)

(Click the badge to learn more about this event!)

The first day of camp is "Wonderful Watercolor" and I have attempted a try at what Stephanie has done in her video.  I never really thought to make a rainbow looking galaxy, but it turned out pretty cool!  I just changed up my layout a bit from hers:
I didn't have the watercolors that she used, so I got out my Kuretake Gansi Tambi set and played with the galaxy design on some Ranger watercolor paper.  I created my splattered stars with some Fantasix Frost White paint on my paint brush.  I layered my panel in the same manner that Stephanie did but for mine, I cut out the City Scape banner and put some white card stock behind it and attached it to the bottom of the panel.  I took my yellow sparkle gel pen to color the windows in.

For the black sentiment banner, I've used the MFT Essential Sentiments set which was heat embossed with white EP on black card stock and die cut out with one of the MFT banner dies.

Here's a closer look at the coloring:
The white paint has a cool shimmer to it which was hard to capture on camera.

So doing this card earns me the first badge for camp:
(Wonderful Watercolor)

So moving along already to DAY 2 of Camp Create, Stephanie showed us all about "Remarkable Resist"  I did not have any of the products that she used in her video, so I went in a totally different direction all together with mine:
I took a white piece of card stock and heat embossed this MFT Floral Fantasy background stamp with white EP and then sponged over it with a few different colors of Ranger Oxide inks.  I've used Peeled Paint, Cracked Pistachio, Wilted Violet and Faded Jeans.  I used an MFT Stitched Scallop Basic Edges 2 to cut the bottom portion of my inked panel.  I then took the MFT Friend die and cut it out of the inked panel as well as cut it out from some black card stock to inlay back into the floral inked panel.  I also took the MFT More Essential Sentiments set and stamped it on white card stock and cut it out with a MFT banner die to attach above the inlay die.  Lastly I added some black enamel dots to finish it off.

Finishing this card earns me the Day 2  fire badge:
(Remarkable Resist)

Lastly for day 3 we are shaking things up with Laurie sharing a video on her tips about making some "Spectacular Shakers".  I enjoyed all of the helpful tips she had to make shakers easy and fun.  This was such a fun version I made using her idea:
I didn't have the stamp set that Laurie used on her card, so I decided to take this cute MFT Hog Heaven stamp set for my shaker card instead.  I stamped everything on the inside of the shaker by sponging some blue sky with distress inks and then I used a grass border die and cut it out with some masking paper.  I took the negative of that piece to help sponge some grass at the bottom of the piggy which I masked off.  I colored the pig with my Copic markers and then stamped the sentiment from the same stamp set above his head at a curve to fit the circle.

The front white panel of the card was done in the same way Laurie did her card, except I went at an angle for my lines.  I took the MFT Stitched Min Scallop circle STAX dies and cut one out with some Silver Foil card stock and then used another circle die to cut out the middle for the shaker window.  I also took some Peach Bellini card stock to make the banner which I've silver heat embossed the sentiment on and then added a tiny cupcake from the Hog Heaven stamp set that I've colored and popped up over the banner.

Here's a look at the shaker details:
This card is going to a birthday girl who loves receiving these shaker cards and I know she collects little piggies too!

Completing this card has earned me the tent badge:
(Spectacular Shakers)

So that's THREE down and only 3 more to go by tomorrow!  Yikes!
I better get to gettin' on the hiking trail!!

I hope you've enjoyed my projects for today!  Please stop back by again tomorrow as I will have more to share with you!!  Have a great day!
