A Football Spinner for Cute Card Thursday!

Hello friends!
I hope that all of my American friends had a fantastic July 4th Holiday!
It was so hot over my way and those bugs seemed to want to bite...so I went inside the cool air!

Just swinging by to share a new challenge starting today over at
The challenge for this week is to make a sports/games themed creation!  We can't wait to see what you'll come up with!

I have mostly men in my family and a couple of them are big sports fans, so it's always a great idea to make these type of cards for them whenever I get a chance to do one. So here's my card:
This is how my card looks closed.
I've used a couple of different sports related stamp sets that I've had for a really long time in my stash and I know that I won't ever part with them because I know I will just keep going back to use them again each time I need a sports card for a male! (Some are old Stampin' Up! and another is an older MFT set)

Since it's a masculine style card, I've kept it simple and I've used the colors (Chicago Bears) of a favorite sports team in my family.  I've used the MFT Stitched Oval Dies to cut through the card stock in the middle and thought that the oval shape would be a good shape to use for the football shape.  I stamped two of the footballs and attached them back to back with a string in the middle for the spinner design.  I stamped some stars in the background and the sentiment banner was cut with a fishtail banner die.  I've also sponged some white ink around the navy colored panel.

And so when the recipient opens up the card, they will see that the football in the center of the card starts to spin around!  It's so fun to watch and I think it's best to send these type of cards in the mail as a fun surprise!

And here you can see what the inside of the card looks like.
In the top photo, you can see the letters in the background behind the football...so when the card is opened, it reveals what those letters are inside.  The sentiment set that I've used for the inside of the card is from Lawn Fawn called Happy Happy Happy.

I hope you've enoyed my card today and please be sure to stop by the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog to see what the other design team has come up with!  I hope you will play along with us this week!  Thanks so much for dropping by!

This is awesome! Used to make cards with this technique so many years ago. Always so fun to have movements in cards. Makes an awesome masculine card.

I'm a big basketball fan, but I like your football card far better than anything I could make (especially since I'm not really a card maker). This is both lovely, and very masculine. It is also quite clever, too! Happy Thursday, Vicki.

Fantastic card for a guy Vicki! Really love your card design with the spinning football. Great stamping, I especially like the stars on the background and the sentiment inside. The white inking really adds something to the card. May have to pinch this idea from you if that's okay of course :D. Debra x
